RE: WORDS FOR LIFE

in #spiritual7 years ago

What a beautiful poem. This makes me think of one of my favourite bits of an Emily Dickenson poem (t'is so much joy):

Life is but life, and death but death!
Bliss is but bliss, and breath but breath!
And if, indeed, I fail,
At least to know the worst is sweet.
Defeat means nothing but defeat,
No drearier can prevail!

Sort:

A Book -

There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!
