Watching the waves on the sea shore, waterfalls or looking into the fire be it a candle or bonfire - the effect remains the same, you ll not want to look away from it. On a cold winter night, the burning fire is more appealing than water, wouldn't you agree? You can feel the energy change form into light and warmth.

We feel that cause energy flows within us as well. We are so distracted in life that, we have forgotten the art of recognizing the energy flowing through every living and non living thing. Am not an atheist, I do believe there is a superior energy, that I call God, above us and watching over, our every move (karma) and all that we can do is, our best. Being a Hindu my first approach was to Bhagvatgeeta, not that I read it but I got the gist of it from my mother and all those tv shows made on Mahabharat.

I still think, even though the animation and everything else about producing a tv show has now become advanced, none of them will ever even come close to it. It is a well researched, well written and excellently executed by the actors, bringing the characters alive, they didn't change actors in-between and the dialect of the entire series was maintained to pure Hindi, which has deteriorated to everyday/spoken slang in any period tv show now.

The #geeta tells us how to live our lives. We have to do what we are meant to do in this birth. It is our duty to fulfil our destiny, i.e, play the roles we are given, do what the situation requires us to, and pass away when our time is up. We are all part of one soul of that of a god. It's like having different emotions in a single person. Reminded me of Shakespeare - All the World's a Stage, even he knew what life was.

On the same lines, even Jesus Christ does the same thing.
He is the Son of God, he sacrificed himself for the sins of the others.. why? because we are all one with the One God. Jesus wanted all their sins to be washed away, showing that people can change and learn from their mistakes and live better lives. The Bible, similar to Geeta, tells how one should live their lives(way of life), giving answers to all the problems, how to approach them and solve.

So, what is so different about the saints/gurus/swamis who keep preaching and giving talks?
Always thought them to be fake. They just breed on other's hopes just like the priests in a temple. For a very long time the "Bramhins" had ruled over the society with the pretext of religious authority, extorting money from the people and ruling kingdoms through the king. But the Gurus are different, people willingly follow them, their disciples do preach but no one is forced to follow them. So why is it that they have following of millions all over the world?

Swami Vivekananda, Jiddu Krishnamurthy, Buddha, Ramana Maharshi, what's common about them? They have different school of thoughts and theories, but they speak from their experience and talk about the same destination, ie, how to attain enlightenment. And most commonly about "meditation".

Until recently the definition of meditation was (my def.) - Close your eyes and go to sleep. Goes along very well with Savasana (yoga - corpse posture).

After a mind blowing perspective change in me, I sat down to meditate and in an instant everything was clear. The Gurus, they know how to share their experience, put it in lay man's terms and make us realize that there is a way, we can set ourselves on the path of enlightenment just as they did.

My experience says, that the Gurus, they help us understand the concept of meditation, how to do it, how to live our lives accordingly, how to attain peace of mind and put us on the path required, but, the journey to nirvana is different for every living individual.

Karma, the Chakras within us, Yoga, Meditation are all common in every school of thought. Just like birth, death, breathing, pooping, looking through the eyes, feeling, eating, sleeping.. all of them are common to a human being. Some do less some more, some are fat, some have sharp hearing, some can sing, some can be athletic..

What I mean to say is, even though we all do similar things in life, the journey of every individual from birth to death is different, in the same way, one can only put you on the path to nirvana, explain how to focus and give meaning to every experience but the journey to nirvana will be different for everyone.
