This is a great post @papa-pepper, I've been into this for some years now and I agree with you on what you wrote. The rapture takes place before tribulation and there will still be tribulation and the killing of us Christians is different from the tribulation killing as proposed in that passage. The reason why people are often misled is because they don't take out time to study the Bible and they lift verses to interpret the Bible. They should know that the Bible is a book, it has a story line, if they don't read it in context, they won't get the actual meaning the writer was trying to pass. Thanks for the insightful post.
