Semantics Can Reveal the Real You

Throughout this book, I have attempted to set out an understanding of how you can end the suffering that has dogged your life up to this point. The answer and practical application of this understanding lie entirely in the use of words and their meaning or semantics. Here is a definition of Semantics given by Wikipedia 2018:

"Semantics (from Ancient Greek: σημαντικός sēmantikos, "significant")[1][2] is the linguistic and philosophical study of meaning, in language, programming languages, formal logics, and semiotics. It is concerned with the relationship between signifiers—like words, phrases, signs, and symbols—and what they stand for, their denotation."

You are, after all, simply a model of Semantics, of words and symbols and phrases and signs interpreted by your senses and your understanding of the meaning of all those items. Obviously, as we have discussed, your initial understanding of what was happening to you was formed when you were least equipped to accomplish a competent result. In fact, you had little impact on this Ego formulation, mostly it was laid down unconsciously, layer upon layer by your closest influencers; be these Family, Guardians or Government.

Because of the nature of habit force (#17 of the 17 Key Success Principles as listed in Master Key to Riches; Napoleon Hill), these often incompetent interpretations of meaning that you have used to explain your particular life experience have remained unquestioned and unchallenged, yet they are your core beliefs on which you base your every decision. A contemporary term for this is confirmation bias, that is. everything you do, endeavours to reinforce what you already believe.

Hence the feeling that your life seems to be a continuous loop of repeating past mistakes caused by your habitual Ego driven, decision-making process. Very much a case of Garbage In, Garbage Out (GIGO), an acronym used in computer science to describe the resultant output from erroneous logic and input data. Your influencers have unwittingly, yet often lovingly passed on their limitations to you very much in the manner described by the “Chinese Whisper”, making you a victim indeed.

This less than optimal and in many instances severely deficient childhood programming leads to a variety of fear reactions that render us less than our potential, much less. These manifest as a poor view of ourselves relative to others resulting in varying degrees of performance anxiety as a precursor to action for fear of more suffering, and in anticipation of failure leading to maladaptive responses an attempt to escape the debilitating mental stress. Eventually leading to the desire to kill the faulty beast.

The anticipation of failure brings failure because that is the creative mind's focus. This result, perceived by you as failure is your creation and it is perfect and proves that with proper application and attention to the right thoughts you can just as easily achieve success. In fact, everything you create is a success, it's just comparison with the desired end result, that is, "I must have this result for me to feel happy" or a comparison with others that makes it appear to you as good or bad, right or wrong, success or failure.

Similarly, when you judge yourself you are simultaneously judging others. You are assuming your happiness depends on whether you appear to others as better or worse than them. Using comparison as a yardstick of your success in life will always end badly, as the yardstick we use to measure our success or failure is to compare the worst in ourselves versus the best in another, we purposely set ourselves up to be judged harshly. Once we know our true origins as creators of our own experience then it is no longer logical to treat ourselves and others with anything but love and kindness.

The truth is, your ability to approach your potential is simply about semantics and consciously creating a better view of who and what you are. Yes, you are a victim of circumstance, however, once you understand how you became a victim then it is your responsibility as a thinking and creative adult to break free of this view. You have only remained a victim because you could not see that you are the interpreter of all that you are giving attention too and what is apparently happening to you.

You will realise that attributing the blame for the conditions you are experiencing in your life on the action of others is an elaborate excuse formulated by your mind. It wants to protect you from suffering and so uses excuses to explain your failure to achieve what you think you deserve compared to others you have unconsciously set as your success benchmark. Change the benchmark from external to internal based on the experience you are having right now and the pressure to measure up disappears.

When you believe that you are a creator from within and so have the power of the entire universe at your fingertips excuses become powerless and you accept the gift of unlimited personal creative power that was in you at conception. You are now freed from the luxury of attributing your perceived failure to the action of others in your life and can get on with seeking what's important to you, not others. Realising that what you want will not always be what you get. Yet you will also know that you have access to all that you need to meet and conquer all that you get with the confidence, after all, you are the Universe, all that was, is and ever will be.

Now your success becomes about using your unlimited power to make the most of what's in front of you, whether that’s simply getting up out of bed, solving a resource problem or learning a new skill. There is no failure, all you do is a success, and every new moment a blank page to start over to master your every desire. As long as you hold the thought of the desire in your mind along with the attitude that you are worthy then you will achieve it. The best explanation of the neurosis of excuses is contained in Excuses Be Gone, a CD of a seminar by Wayne Dyer.

In the absence of excuses, your life experience becomes one of pure acceptance of the moment. Your use of words becomes your experience as you realise you are the word. The word is can be the only experience, therefore, your choice of word, becomes your interpretation of the moment and the creation of your emotional experience.

It follows then that the greater your word power and the more sophisticated and nuanced the language you use the more experiences you can create into your objective world and the more control you have over those experiences. Your understanding of this determines the amount of control you have over your life, compared to the control others have over you. By expanding your word power and comprehension you greatly expand your creative possibilities as you mix and match different concepts and focus your understanding of words, phrases, symbols etc.
