Fame could be used to shed light on important social issues . Jesus was and still is famous. Guess you are talking about people worshiping celebrities. i think it can go too far at times. People see themselves in another person and that person becomes everyone's alter ego. People then expect them to live up to a certain standard. The celebrities are the ones who suffer the most, but i wouldn't call them vain, selfish and all these extreme words. Everyone is capable of being good or bad . Everyone, famous or not, is capable of vanity and all those words.
