SPIRITUAL FOOD 4 THOUGHT - DOES A DAY BEING AS 1000 YEARS RELATE TO CREATION WEEK?

in #spirituality6 years ago

Periodically within the discussion about whether the earth is just a few thousand years old or whether it is billions of years old, people will cite a passage from Peter.

"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." 2 Peter 3:8

In this video I provide you with four reasons why this passage does not make a difference when we attempt to evaluate creation week.

There are many plants the reply on animals for their survival. Pollination, spreading seeds, ect. They could not last thousands of years without animals. What did the venues flytrap eat?

I've never gotten into that debate, to be honest. I've just never found much of an interest. Then again, when reading Genesis, I've always read it metaphorically, but that opens up another can of worms, but I will post about later in an actual post.

It was my research into what happens to a lot of children from Christian homes when they grow up that got me interested in this particular matter. There has been some good discussion about it so far as I've been sharing, so I've got a couple more I'll be putting out. Thanks for checking in on it.

It's not always as simple as 1 day = 1,000 years. The earth is billions of years old. If you took the entire history of the earth and made it fit into one year, mankind's history would take up less than the final second in that year.

the Earth is billions of years old.

That has got to be one of the most unbiblical things I have ever heard someone who supposedly professes christianity say.

Actually, if you read the Bible and take all the things that God says into consideration, then there was only a brief moment in the world's history (five days) before man was created. I take it you didn't read my response to your previous comment?

I think I'm beginning to understand why you are a barncat and not a housecat.....

OK Then I wish you would explain what 2 Peter 3:18 is meant to mean. Please. Thanks. @papa-pepper.

I should be recording this one tonight and get in up here in a couple days. Two others will be shared before it.

Thank you @papa-pepper. I appreciate it and look forward to your take. I feel with God any or multiple meaning can be arrived from scripture...and some things we may never know this side of heaven, as we do not think like Him. Blessings.

I can collect my thought on the matter and then put them out shortly. Thank you for the request.

SO much here....thanks for putting this out.
The one thought that I had even before I watched this video was about how would plants survive without the sun? They could last one day but not a 1,000 years.....just glad you mentioned that point!
