Do you dream?

Dreams...The first step….

Modern Western culture pretends to place importance on sleep and sees dreaming as nothing more than the unwinding of a befuddled brain.
In my view, it is vital that we nurture this part of our lives just as much, if not more that we do our waking time. We ignore our overall health and wellbeing if we view sleep and dreaming as nothing more than a chore.
Sleeping and dreaming is that connection to our innermost selves and goes to the core of our individuality, our being, our spirit. If we do not listen to the messages that lie therein, we are missing an essential part of what makes us us.

When in my professional Crystal Man guise, it has astounded me how many people approach me for advice on dreaming...how many state that they either can't remember their dreams or simply don't dream...

Here are a couple things to do to re-train your brain into knowing and remembering what you do with one third of your physical life...

Whether you’re a dreamer that can't recall or a non dreamer, the steps are the same...

Keep a pen and paper by your bedside!

Do you wake to an alarm? If you do, make sure it’s a gentle, not noisy one and if you wake by yourself, even better.

When you wake, stay still for a moment or two, take the time to reflect on either how you feel (for non dreamers) or what you have just experienced in your dreams.

Write a word that describes how you feel, (tired, alert, normal, relaxed etc.) or better yet, a few key words that tell the basics of your dream.

Throughout your morning routine, throughout the day and most importantly before going to sleep the next night, re-read what you have written and try to remember, then tell yourself that you will remember more before nodding off.

This is only the basic first step to the wonderful experience of lucid dreaming, where you can take control of your sleeping world, or simply sit back and enjoy the ride in full consciousness ~ but it does work!

I've had many success stories told to me by people using this simple method.....for some, it takes time and effort, for others it just clicks...we're all different!

Please ask any questions and feel free to share your experiences or tips...
