You're right. So many look for the easy way out rather than deal with the issues. So if they can avoid them in anyway necessary they do. Then that one day comes and they don't understand what's going on.

Mindfulness, meditation, yoga and so for are not the 'healing' methods that so many believe them to...they are coping mechanisms. Positive coping mechanisms, rather than turning to numbing methods. Clear your head from the issue at hand so you can focus on the issue and work your way through it. Help calm oneself when anxiety hits 'out of nowhere' The last thing anyone wants is a panic attack with lots of people around.

Absolutely my friend. Unless you go to the root cause of the problem then it doesnt matter how much yoga you do! The wounds are still there.

If you don't think you can get to the root causes through shamanic healings practices, perhaps you haven't experience real shamanism. What do you think traditional cultures have used to heal their illnesses (physical, emotional, spiritual) for thousands of years? Therapy? Ayahuasca is what the locals in the Amazon use to heal trauma (among other things).

And as far as yoga and meditation, well if you follow ANY of these paths deeply enough you will come to great healing. Yes if meditation is something you do for 10 minutes to relax your body, it will have a very limited benefit. If you use it as a life-long practice to transform your consciousness, the results will be very different.

The issue is not the modality, it is the superficial orientation modern people have to them. frankly, it is just as superficial to say "ah, yoga is for new age putzes" as it is to be a naive new ager that thinks 1x/week yoga poses is going to heal their core wounds....
