Lapis Lazuli for a Peaceful Mind, Heightened Sense of Awareness, and to Contact Your Spirit Guides

in #spirituality8 years ago (edited)

It’s mind blowing when we pay attention to the synchronicities that go on around us. Years ago when I was learning about the healing powers of gems and minerals I came across lapis lazuli, and I immediately knew I needed to get a piece of it. I mentioned this to my husband, who also studies gems and minerals, and he said to me, “You know, I think there’s a piece out in the garage in one of the boxes of stuff that we inherited from Annie.” He went out, found the box, scavenged through it and returned with the perfect piece of lapis lazuli, that we can simply call lapis, which is the one pictured below. The boxes of stuff had been cluttering our garage for years. I could have never imagined that a piece of lapis would be in one of the boxes, and even more fascinating is that my husband remembered seeing it and knew which box it was in. Instant manifestation!

The fact that this piece of lapis came from Annie made it special beyond words. Annie, a dear old friend, who departed from this world many years prior, was sending me yet another gift from the other side. Annie was truly one-of-a-kind. The cliche’, “They broke the mold when they made her,” couldn’t hold more true. That I knew her, has been one of the miracles in my life. Annie’s father was killed in WWI and her mother, not able to raise her alone, put her in an orphanage in France where they lived. Annie was adopted as a baby, grew up in France, was well-educated in law, moved to America, worked as a lawyer for a large American book- publishing company, and married an actor-who unfortunately died in his mid 50’s. Annie’s almost fiction-like life story could take up volumes, but I will stop there so that I can focus on this post’s topic.

I wanted lapis mainly because I was having trouble quieting my mind during meditation, and one of Lapis’ characteristics is that it helps to quiet a busy mind. In addition to that it is also used to contact your spirit guides and that, too, was something I desired. Even though I knew my spirit guides were and had always been with me, I felt that I never showed proper gratitude or expressed my full trust in their guidance. Utilizing lapis was one tangible way to let my guides know that I believed in and was grateful for them.

After receiving the lapis, I immediately washed it and then set it out in the sun to recharge. It’s important to always wash your gems and minerals upon receiving them in order to clear them of left-over energy from previous owners or others who have had a hand in getting the desired stone to you. Gems and minerals absorb energy and need to be washed and then recharged in the sun or moonlight in order to remain effective. Kyanite is the only one that I know of that does not absorb energy and does not need to be cleansed or recharged.

After the lapis was ready and I was ready to meditate, I held it in my hand as I meditated with the intention that it would keep my mind quiet. I also called forth my spirit guides asking for protection and guidance and to please show me how I can be of service. To this day, I always call forth my spirit guides during my meditation. I no longer need to hold the lapis during meditation, however, because over a couple week’s time my mind quieted down, enabling me to have peaceful meditations. It helped me to achieve the quiet mind I was looking for. It now rests on my nightstand helping me to have sound sleep.

As always, I set my intention, which was to have my mind be still and quiet during meditation so that the answers I was seeking could come through. Next, already knowing that gems, rocks and minerals contain healing powers, I researched which one could help me with my specific problem, and that is how I discovered lapis. Finally, I put into practice what I learned, and within a short period of time I was able to attain a quiet mind during meditation.

As with almost every gem/stone/mineral/rock, lapis-officially a rock- has many uses. So, in addition to helping quiet your mind and make contact with your spirit guides, it, being blue, also relates to your throat chakra, thus helping with effective communication and self expression. Some people find it useful in conquering sinus infections and problems with speech. Setting it near your bed can help you achieve better sleep. Some people incorporate its powers in healing their thyroid. Finally, just to name one more use out of many more, it helps to protect from both physical and psychic attacks, so keep it on you when you go out.

If you look at my picture, you will see that my piece of lapis has off-white speckles throughout. This is calcite deposits, and lowers the monetary value of this rock. However, monetary value is not a concern for me because I was looking for the stone’s healing powers. Plus, the lapis came from a dear friend, which imparts even more meaning into it. That means, the stone has mega healing powers for me.

Deep blue lapis with a hint of purple and no off-white deposits is prized, especially for use in jewelry. The finest lapis comes from Afghanistan. It is also found in the US and Canada, just to name a couple other places where you can hunt for lapis.

If you’re wanting to quiet your mind, make contact with your spirit guides, have better sleep or have better communication, then I recommend getting a piece of lapis lazuli. It’s easy to find at gem and mineral shows, metaphysical stores or online on Ebay, for example. Remember to clean and recharge your lapis when you receive it, set your intention, and then practice using it. You may find yourself happily surprised by the results.

Thank you so much for reading! As always, my writing is my own based on my research throughout the years and what I personally experience. My picture was taken in my home of a piece of lapis lazuli that I was gifted.

@weq ~ you are always on point! I love me some Lapis Lazuli! Back in my corporate days underwriting health insurance I used to make bracelets of lapis & onyx for my coworkers (of course it started when they noticed the one I had made for myself) :) <3

Interestingly enough - the healing properties helped me find my voice and put it to good use. I had sworn to myself (at entry level) that no matter what, I would quit working doing something that went directly against my Soul no later than my 30th birthday...

As it turned out, I was six months late for that goal - but in October of 2010 - I got it done! Thank you for bringing up fond memories and sharing the awesomeness of crystal medicine and the power of Lapis.

Sharedx3 (resteem, tweet, fb) Much Love!

Those bracelets must have been beautiful! That is awesome you were able to leave your job, to leave something behind that probably zapped your energy away. It's pretty amazing what we can accomplish when we set our intention.
As always, thank you so much. Much love to you, too!

Thank you so much @weq - it is truly amazing! I will share some photos of my creations in the near future also <3 Would love to receive some feedback and I am always open to constructive criticism from the community :) Reiki Hugs!

Thank you. I look forward to seeing your creations!

I used to used stone during meditation, i mostly use amethyst and i will sure use lapiz lazuli thanks to your advice. For sure you have selenite already, they say that it also recharge other gems and stones, and my favorite is Shungite it absorbs psychic attach negativity and emp specially if you use gadgets and wifi all the time, and it is said it cleanses thr water too. I have a question tho, how to you use it for medition, does it matter which hand you hold it while meditating and does it matter if its in your pocket or should be in your hands, i noticed when i drift away to a deep meditation, the stone either falls from my hand or rolls over making me distracted in a way. And as healing powers does size matter? Just curious.thanks for the advice

Hello. I wrote about about shungite last week. I love it! I have shungite pyramids throughout the house. They have made a huge difference in the overall feel around here. I use it to mitigate EMFs and we place some in the pitcher that holds our drinking water. I love selenite, too. I have a beautiful necklace with a beautiful piece of selenite hanging from it. I want to write about that sometime. I hold anything that I meditate with in my right hand. I don't know if there is a specific hand you should use. I always tend to go with what feels comfortable. When I work on opening my third eye, I actually tie a piece of moldavite around my head so that it hangs in fron of my third eye. Moldavite is powerful! I can feel it working. I've also noticed that having a stone nearby works. I keep several on my nightstand. I carry them in my pockets or pocketbook all the time! I was taught that you should get gems/minerals/stones, etc.. that "speak" to you, that catch your attention. So, personally, I don't worry about the size. It's best to buy your stones in person, so you can get a feel for them. But, I know that's not always possible. I've purchased several on line.
Thank you so very much for your reply! I appreciate it. I look forward to following you!

Thank you so much for that valueable info. Since i was i kid, i collect stones specially if i went to a very significant place or memory. And most of my stones that i buy, is usually from special places like Sedona or mt shasta, even though i know that they also got it from somewhere else. I will be lloking forward to your next blog, and try to read some of your past blog. Please check out my blog about sedona tohttps://steemit.com/life/@errymil/vortex-energy-sedona-arizona-usa-best-place-for-spirituality. Thanks! 🙏🏼

It's so true...When we're kids we're fascinated about nature and the world around us. Then, we might lose that fascination and get caught up in the material world. When we return to that child-like wonder, we find peace again.

I plan to visit Mt. Shasta one day soon! It looks amazing and I've heard the energy there is incredible. My friend is there right now. He visits every year and actually grew up near there. Sedona is beautiful! I live about 3 hours away. I am going to read your blog right now. Thank you so much.

When you go to Mt Shasta make sure to visit my Shambala crystal shop! The owner is Susan isabell she is so amazing, she owns the 13th crystal skull! She has a lot of amazing stories to tell, she is like indiana jones. But need to set up an appointment to really hold and see those crystals. Let me know when your visiting as i am also planning to go visit again. Thanks

I'm texting my friend to go to the crystal shop right now! He'll be at Shasta for a few more days. Thank you for telling me. I will let you know when I get to go there. I will be going to San Diego next week, but I won't have time to go north of there. Thank you, again, very much.

Whoa! Talk about synchronicity....When I texted Kirk he and his girlfriend were already on their way to Shambala. They had made an appointment. He texted me a picture of the beautiful sign there, the earth with the dove of peace over it. Amazing!

Really! Wow really indeed is synchronicity! But you got to see Susan and the 13th crystal skull. Ask them to buy you a souvenir. Buy the guide to mt shasta by susan isabelle or any if her books! Its agood read. I also bought her crystal skulls and i always meditate on them

Maybe 2 Years ago someone in my dream told me to get Lapis Lazuli. I was not really aware at this time what kind of stone this is, and i had to look it up first.
I think i did read somewhere, it's better not to keep this stone in the bedroom. But i anyway have it in my bedroom most of the time ;)

That's very cool that you were told to get it in a dream. I always listen to my dreams, too. I can keep certain stones, like lapis, in my bedroom. Some of them, you don't want near you when you need sleep. I cannot keep moldavite in the bedroom. I love it, but it's very powerful for me. Thank you very much for your response.
