Maintenance Performed On Our SPK Claim Node

in #spk3 years ago

Our claim node has been up for about a week now on the test net. With several maintenances that were performed in that time frame.

Recently:

  • Made some security changes
  • Added a swap file
  • Made adjustments to delegation amount of Hive.

Seeing as there have been some edge cases and issues we have added a small swap file for ram. This should hopefully be a preventative measure taken place. Once the testing phase is over we will re-evaluate our system specs and determine if we need to upgrade to more ram or if the swap file is more than enough for rare occasions.

While the recommended amount of Hive for running a node is 100. We have been testing around with different delegation amounts. So far we do not believe we have found a lower more optimal amount. We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed. More than likely adding more HP in the next 24-48 hours as 60HP does not appear to be enough. We will more than likely bump it back up to 100 by the end of the weekend if a better amount is not found.

The system has also been recently rebooted and patches applied to the software being used as of 48 hours ago. Throughout a weeks’ time we have updated the SPKCC software running: v1.0.0b9, v1.0.0b10, v1.0.0b11, v1.0.0b12, and v1.0.0b14. These updates were usually made within a few hours of release. We do not currently have an auto-update setup but that is being considered.

At this time we are not looking to set up a domain for the API. Since that is optional and this is still on a testing network. Once further guides and possible alternative places to use have been made. We will take a look and determine if this is something we want to set up.
