Hey you beautiful bastards in the Splinterland Community, how's it going i've been thinking of writing this post to share my 1st weekly challenge as i was only introduced to this lately but didn't have enough resource credits those rats(rental) kept eating away at them when i tried to snipe some bargains so here's my edition of the Weekly Challenge of Dragons.

First off my choice of Summoner Camilla Sungazer

image.png

She's a Legendary Dragon Summoner of average human height no more than 40 chickens. She gives a debuff to the enemy of -1 melee attack and though it's a rental i usually take her in the event that i need to use Djinn Chwala in conjunction with him.

As your can see from this ruleset

THE BATTLE

image.png

As you can see from this ruleset it's melee only and reverse speed with 99 mana and all elements. Now I was really worried that he had Mylor which I would say is the perfect counter to this ruleset but looking at the 2/5 battles that he had for earth I saw he only had Llama, which allowed me to build my team to take into account that and counter for it.

Tank

image.png> Our new favourite easy bronze tank at the front with thorns and 14 in total life if you include shields, Chwala is a beast of a tank and melee unit as anytime he gets hit he deals back 2 damage to any melee unit.
Considering the ruleset for this fight is only melee I figured if there are any units he would pick it would be units with reach or opportunity which would run into the wall that is Chwala.

2nd Position

image.png

The Goblin Mech a great secondary tank and has plently of shields to tank any pesky high melee damage unit while also dishing out also high damage as well with it's piercing against any other high shield unit.

3rd Position

image.png

The screeching vulture a carrion of the wasteland, I knew for a fact the other person would also try to take Sandworm so i wanted a unit with opportunity to try to snipe his Sandworm as quickly as possible .

4th Position

image.png

The Slow but heavy hitting Sandworm with sneak and massive damage to take out the backline but with the reverse speed it was a very fast Sandworm.

5th Position

image.png

A little rascal of a unit normally used in low mana fights but i needed another melee with sneak to deal with his backline as fast as possible.

Linchpin

image.png

The Stone Golem with Shield to reduce incoming melee and range damage and a decent about of hp with in total 8 including shields i wanted to use him to stall the oponents Sandworm as much as possible.

image.png

Round 2

image.png

I Slightly miscalculated with the Screeching Vulture because of the reverse speed the Sandworm and Goblin thief were far faster and attacked the Nectar Queen first making her the lowest hp.
While my Chwala and Stone Golem were working as intended soaking up all the damage.

Round 5

image.png

As you can see i'm slowly whittling away at his backline my Stone Golem survived until the 4th round which was plently of time for me to whittle down his backrow but oh oh this is getting frisky. As in the Next round his Sandworm is going to attack my Sandworm.

Round 7

image.png
He's going kill my Sandworm but i'm going to kill his Unicorn with my Screeching Vulture and also kill his Iron Golem with thorns damage from Chwala, which will put his Sandworm finally into the front position and the only remaining unit which will unfortunately trigger last stand to create this monster.

Round 8

image.png
Here unfortunately my Chwala isn't going to move first but that doesn't matter as my Goblin Mech will replace him and immediately be able to attack considering he's slower so he hasn't moved yet.

Last Round

image.png
Lastly but not least he's gonna attack into my Shield and even if I miss my Goblin Mech still has another 2 chances to finish the Sandworm off......Sweat sweat if i don't miss haha 😅.

Did my Strategy work?

Besides miscalculating who he would attack because of reverse speed I would say it worked out very well. Could I have done better, besides Oaken Behemoth which I don't have rented or I don't know if he would be allowed in this ruleset I don't think I could of changed this line up besides using Mylor for the easy win haha but then this wouldn't work with the Dragon theme and I don't have Mylor.

Do I like Dragons?

Yes I do, I hope I can eventually get Djinn Chwala or eventually make a great Dragon lineup but until then I'll just pray for a Djinn Chwala from rewards.

Thanks for reading folks this might of been a doozy but I had fun writing it and I hope you enjoyed reading it.
