Hello, splinter-warriors. I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I will share a battle with you guys that would portray, I dare say, the best summoner in the game which I have been using since I started to play.
Without further ado, let's begin!
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 28 and there are 5 summoners to choose from: Fire, Water, Nature, Death, and Dragon. The man cap is well enough to construct a deck to base around a single unit. Keen strategy and overlapping focus shall determine the victory.
I went with the Death summoner because it has some amazing debuffs that offer an edge over the enemy monsters. My opposition took Nature's aid.
Battle Rules:-
- Fab Four: Upto 4 units can be used.
- Armoured Up: All monsters have 2 armours in addition to their normal armour stat.
- Tis but Scratches: All monsters have the ripple ability.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters)(Level 5)
Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns, Heal).
Melee Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach, Trample), Silent Sha-vi(Ability: Sneak).
Ranged Attacker: Dhampir Stalker(Ability: True Strike, Deathblow).
My strategy was to damage him from both front and back. I also wanted to ensure a chunk of damage, that's why I used a high-speed monster that would thin out the numbers from the back of his deck and a unit that has true strike. My first unit has thorns and heal, that way it could both heal itself after attacked and give out damage on physical contact.
My overall damage was 13 with 3 healing. Adding in damage from thorns, it comes to 15 damage per round. Should there be a last monster standing, a potential death-blow would cause overall damage to 19 in the last round.
Now, for the opposition's turn.
Summoner: Obsidian(Ability: Increase in Magic damage for ally magic attackers)(Level 3 Gold Foil)
Tank: Mycelic Slispawn(Ability: Taunt).
Magic Attackers: Ujurak Mystic(Ability: Lookout), Regal Peryton(Ability: Flying), Goblin Psychic(Ability: Tank-Heal).
His strategy was a bit too straightforward. He wanted all the attacks to be diverted toward his tank while the other units would damage my tank. He used a unit that would heal his tank from the end of his deck as if challenging me to try and take out his healer.
His overall damage per round is 7 with a healing of 2. Adding in the damage boost from his summoner's attribute, it sums to 11 per round.
Major Events
Firstly, his overall damage and HP was reduced by 4. Then, the first monster to fall is his tank after the first half of the round.
Later, his second monster fell after the first half.
Later, at the start of the 3rd round, his healer fell thanks to my sneak attacker. That way, it easily turned into a 4 v 1.
And at the end of the 4th round, his Pegasus falls.
Reuslts
Had he used another summoner that had similar debuffs or contrasting buffs, he would've had a shot at my impenetrable deck. He did spend a nice amount getting that gold summoner along with the other gold monsters but a normal summoner with the same debuffs as his summoner's buffs made his attackers, in general, weak.
