Status Quo - Battle Link
Today I'm bringing you a very cool battle, or at least I thought so. It's a Bronze League Tournament battle, rules are Born Again (every monsters gets a rebirth, perfect for Martyr and Bloodlust), Aim True (no attack misses) and Weak Magic (Magic attacks hits armor first). A total of 30 Mana is quite interesting as it leaves a few options.
As you can see, I went all in on my Gladiator - Quora, one of the best. Two Martyrs around her, counting on the enemy having a Snipe or Opportunity Monster. Oshuur Constantia for another rebirth. Just with the Martyrs, Quora should get to 7 Melee, 7 Magic, 8 Speed and 17 LP (meaning 5 LP healing).
The opponent went for a Chwala as thorny tank, then a Martyr to boost - Olivia, an amazing monster that has Mimic at Bronze level, so it gets a random enemy ability at the beginning of round 2 and every round after - plus a 25% chance on copying one from a monster that Olivia attacks, which is nice because she has two attack types and opportunity.
Round 1
Funny enough, neither Summoner makes a difference in the game. The first round is about dipping the toes, one of my martyrs goes down two times and gets revived for a third life. Meaning, Quora is already at +2 on everything at the end of round one. No other news.
Round 2
Now it becomes interesting because what does Olivia? She mimics Quora's Bloodlust - that with her opportunity will become a little challenge. She gets her first kill bonus right away by taking out the Flinger, and the second right after for taking out the Marksrat - both of which also give bonus to Quora. Olivia has now +2 stats, Quora +4.
Round 3
Quora starts by healing herself 5 LP and then punching Chwala to the ground to have him revived and get herself another +1. Olivia comes right after, taking out the Marksrat (+1 for both women), and thanks to her bonus, she also beats up the halfling - but she does not get the revive kill, since Vruz is there and takes it from her. That little thing might be a game changer here. Olivia is now at +4 on everything, Quora at +6.
Round 4
At the beginning of Round 4, Olivia gets - of course - healing. Does she really want to be Quora so desperately? At this point, I'm a bit scared. Quora takes out Chwala again for another boost, and Olivia does the same with Constantia. Olivia +5, Quora +7
Round 5
This is the interesting one. The decisive one. Quora kills the Marksrat two times, getting +2 - same goes for Olivia. Quora now has 21 health - and the opponent team combined 19 viable damage points. Quora survives this round with 2 LP! She now has 2x 11 attack, while Olivia has 11 health - well, guess what?
Round 6
Her speed is higher than Olivias! So she kills Olivia two times, without Olivia being able to respond. So, if Olivia had gotten that one revive-kill that Vroz took from her, she would've survived and killed Quora. Thank you, enemy Vruz!
Conclusion
Olivia is a great card, and almost everything went her way in this match - except for that Vruz. This was a real nail-biter match for me, since the outcome wasn't forseeable. Also, what if Olivia had gained Resurrect from Constantia, and revived the Marksrat once more? Another little luck for me.
