Everything About Cards
Question 1
: What are the different ways to get cards?
Answer
: Different ways of obtaining cards are mentioned below -
- Completing daily quests : You have 33% chance of getting cards from chests after completing daily quests.
- Buy it from market : There are 4 places from where you can buy cards. In-game, Monster Market, SPLINTX and PeakMonsters
- 5 cards from packs : Right now there are 2 different packs that are in stock - UNTAMED and DICE. Other types of packs can also be bought on HIVE ENGINE
- End of season rewards.
- Transfer from other players : Other players can also send you card. It can be of 2 types - Delegation (temporary) and Gift (permanent).
- Renting : You can rent cards from PeakMonsters. Its the best way to get cards while slowly building your own deck side by side.
Question 2: What should I know about different editions?Answer: There are currently 6 editions of cards :- Alpha : These were the first cards that came out. They give you 10% bonus DEC per alpha card used in ranked games. Also they give you access to Alpha only tournaments (if you have enough cards).
- Beta : They are similar to alpha edition with 2 key differences - A. They don't give any DEC bonus and B. They have neutral splinter which was a new splinter introduced from beta edition.
- Promo : The cards from this edition are available from ORB packs and Mystery Potions (If you are lucky).
- Reward : These are the cards you get from quest chests and season end rewards. A new reward card is introduced every time one of the reward cards goes out of print. You can check the status of Reward Cards HERE.
- Untamed : These are currently available in shop for 2000 DEC and no discount.
- Dice : These are currently available in shop for 3000 DEC but there is discount available.
Question 3: What does 'card is out of print' mean?Answer: The number of cards of every edition is limited. Whenever you get cards from packs, chests and season end, it is said that the card was printed. And a time will come when those cards will reach their maximum printable quantity and that is when we call it "out of print". Those cards will only be available in markets then. You can check which reward edition cards are out of print or are about to go out of print here -
Question 4: What all should I know about leveling up cards?Answer: A few things to remember here :- To level up cards you need to combine same cards with each other.
- Gold Foil cards can only be combined with Gold Foils.
- If you level up a card which is currently a part of a tournament match, You will automatically forfeit that match.
- The number of cards needed to level up a card is shown in the image below. It changes as you level up. (Don't get confused while levelling up Beta cards as they start with 1 BCX)

That is a great guide to Splinterlands!
Good job!
well done!
a lot of information, and new players need that
i'd just like to add that u get 10% from every gold card u use, so a gold alpha will give u 10+10=20% more, a gold promo 10+10=20% more, a gold beta/reward 10% more, and i am not sure about gold dice, 10% more definitely, maybe 20% not sure
and that is every gold card a 10% bonus, so two gold cards 20%, three gold cards 30%, etc.
yeah DICE has no bonus yet. Thanks for more insights!
