Introduction
After creating the New Player Boost initiative (Introduction & Pool #1) and engaging in multiple conversations with community members, I've decided to shift away from asking for donations and giving them away to new members. Instead, I'm starting up two new community supported accounts that will act similar to a DAO, and will be used to achieve the same goal of helping new players.
The main difference between the New Player Boost and these new DAO accounts is that the contributions received will be used to acquire Splinterlands assets that will then be either delegated directly to new players or will be used to produce earnings and build on top of the contributions.
Please note that 100% of the player contributions and earnings from these accounts will be used towards supporting new players. All transactions will be recorded, tracked, and posted every month in order to be fully transparent.
The two new Splinterlands accounts created are CARD-DAO
and LAND-DAO
.
Please read the corresponding sections below on each one to learn more about how they will work and how you can support them.
CARD-DAO
The goal of the CARD-DAO
is to build Splinterlands card decks and delegate them to new players who are just getting into Splinterlands. On top of the card decks, this account will look to acquire SPS in order to stake and delegate along with the decks so then new players can earn and fully experience the play-to-earn gameplay of Splinterlands!
With the help of the community, I believe we can help the Splinterlands team increase their new player retention rate through this community support CARD-DAO
account.
This deck delegation concept is the same as what NFTy Arcade was trying to do, however, instead of worrying about profiting off of the decks, I will be purely focused on building as many decks as possible and making them stronger.
How To Contribute
If interested in contributing to this effort, please send any of the items below to the Splinterlands CARD-DAO
account.
Contributions Accepted:
- DEC
- Cards (any level)
- Card Packs
- SPS
- SPS Rewards Delegations
Upon sending any contribution, please try to contact me either on Discord (brybro) or with a comment on this post or future posts.
All contributions will be recorded and posted on a monthly basis in order to express my huge gratitude towards those willing to help me support this initiative!
How Contributions Will Be Used
Please note that the ideals below are subject to change as I will be looking for community feedback on the best ways to utilize the contributions and maximize the value towards helping new players.
Cards
All cards will be used to build a deck.
Even though leagues are no more, my goal is to eventually build a deck for each league, prioritizing Bronze first. Wild cards are more than welcome as well and will result in Wild decks being built.
If there are an abundant of duplicate cards contributed, I will discuss with the contributor on whether these cards can be sold for DEC or used for the LAND-DAO
account.
I suggest only contributing Regular Foil cards. Any Gold Foil cards will be discussed on selling, burning, or used for the LAND-DAO
account as well.
DEC
Any DEC contributions will be used to either purchase individual cards or card packs.
Card Packs
Card packs will be opened and all cards will be used towards building a deck/s.
Any Gold Foil cards will be sold or burned for DEC.
SPS
All contributed SPS will be staked immediately and used delegated out with the card decks.
The amount of SPS delegated out to new players will depend on the level deck delegated and the league that the new player is currently playing in.
SPS Reward Delegations
Any SPS rewards that come in through the Reward Delegations from other players (like Battle Rewards, Brawls, Land, etc..) will be claimed, kept as staked SPS, and used towards SPS delegations as explained above.
LAND-DAO
The LAND-DAO
purpose is similar to that of the CARD-DAO
, but it will be focused purely on Land and helping new players engage with Land gameplay.
There are just as many factors as Splinterlands Battling that need to be considered when jumping into Land. Having a community supported LAND-DAO
will ideally help ease players into setting up their own Land plots.
The target players for this account will not only be new players, but instead, it will also be any existing player that has yet to jump into Land, or may be having trouble getting into it.
One main difference between the LAND-DAO
and CARD-DAO
is that the LAND-DAO
is going to attempt to be more self-sustainable in order to grow and provide more resources for players.
How To Contribute
If interested in contributing to this effort, please send any of the items below to the Splinterlands LAND-DAO
account.
Contributions Accepted:
- DEC
- Cards (Land Workers)
- Land Plots (not needed at the moment)
Upon sending any contribution, please try to contact me either on Discord (brybro) or with a comment on this post or future posts.
All contributions will be recorded and posted on a monthly basis in order to express my huge gratitude towards those willing to help me support this initiative!
How Contributions Will Be Used
Please note that the ideals below are subject to change as I will be looking for community feedback on the best ways to utilize the contributions and maximize the value towards helping new players.
DEC
DEC will be the main ask as the DEC staking requirements are the most significant aspect of Land gameplay. Any DEC contributed to this account will mainly be staked to the Regions where the Land plots are located.
Cards (Land Workers)
Any cards contributed to this account will be used towards working the Land. Ideally, maxed cards would be preferred in order to maximize on Production Points (PP).
Land Plots
Land plots will obviously be used to work and produce resources from.
At the start, these aren't needed as contributions as I've fronted five plots already to the cause (proof):
- 1 Common Occupied
- 1 Common Magical
- 3 Common Natural
My Vision For The LAND-DAO
In order to become self-sustainable, this LAND-DAO
initiative is going to take a couple months to get setup and begin producing resources.
However, once we get past the hump of constructing the buildings on the plots and producing resources, the LAND-DAO
account will begin hoarding resources and looking to transfer them to new players that need them.
Natural Plots
Until Land 2.0, the main resource that the LAND-DAO
will prioritize is going to be Grain. The Natural plots will be used to farm grain. In return, the Grain will be used to supply all the LAND-DAO
plots, along with collecting the surplus to send to new players.
Magical Plots
In order to make the LAND-DAO
self-sustainable and useful in the future, my goal is to work a couple Magical Land plots to collect Research Points. It is not completely known how these may be used in the future, but I believe it would be helpful to still collect now in hopes that they can be used to collect rare resources in the future that will be extremely beneficial to new players.
Occupied Plots
Similar to Magical Land plots, Occupied Land plots won't be the main focus. However, I would like to get a few Occupied Land plots running as well in order to mine SPS.
All mined SPS will be directly rewarded to the CARD-DAO
account. I don't want to introduce the mined SPS into the circulation. Instead, it can support the SPS delegations that the CARD-DAO
will be trying to support.
Important Notes
All contributions to either one of these accounts will not be returned. If at any point these accounts are to be discontinued, all assets will be sold or burned for DEC, and the remnants will be scattered to as many new players as possible at the time.
I value all community feedback. That is why these accounts are labeled as a 'DAO'. Please reach out at anytime if you have any feedback or suggestions you'd like to give. I live on Discord and will always respond!
I plan on tracking every single transaction and report on all actions that are made on these accounts. I also plan on tracking the impact that these accounts will have on new players, and will try to analyze what works and what doesn't.
