Introduction
As of last month, the Splinterlands DAO voted to hire Cryptomancer full-time to develop the Secret of Praetoria Land Expansion. Ever since this proposal has passed, Cryptomancer has been providing weekly updates in the Land-Barons Discord channel.
Due to the fact that this Discord channel is restricted to those who own 50 or more Land plots, I determined it would be best to share these updates outside of the channel so everyone interested in Land, or even those who may be curious to just see what Cryptomancer is working on, can view them.
Crytomancer's time is valuable and he can't post this information everywhere and carry on conversations in all channels that the information is shared on.
With this being said, I plan on making a weekly post with the updates that Cryptomancer shares in the Land-Barons Discord channel. If you are like me, you may get very excited to see what Cryptomancer has completed and is working on next on a week-to-week basis!
This Week's Update
The following is mostly copy/paste from Cryptomancer:
Here is a summary of Land progress over the past week:
- Finished adding basic support for wood, stone, and iron LPs to the Trade Hub.
- UI enhancement: added worksite overlays to the Deed Card images that show when you view plot lists in Deed mode.
- Started adding a way to track fees earned for each player's liquidity positions
Here is where we are at with the 3 main Trade Hub features that are planned:
DONE! - Trade Hub support for multiple LPs
-- (4 total for DEC-GRAIN, DEC-WOOD, DEC-STONE, and DEC-IRON).IN PROGRESS - Add a way to track fees earned for each player's liquidity positions and display that somewhere on the UI.
NOT STARTED - Allow direct resource-to-resource swaps
-- (i.e. something like GRAIN -> STONE, which behind the scenes will be turned into GRAIN -> DEC and then DEC -> STONE, and handled as one atomic blockchain op).During the week ahead I will be continuing to work on the Trade Hub.
Previous Updates
10/29/2024 Update
- Finished adding support for wood, stone, and iron to the Harvest All screen.
- Verified that grain worksite transitions work with Harvest All.
- Added a Harvest All variation of the automatic worksite transition notification.
- Fixed issue with misleading tax numbers on the Harvest All screen.
- Started working on Trade Hub changes to support new LPs for wood, stone, and iron.
My efforts for much of November will likely be focused on various aspects of the Trade Hub. I have identified 3 major features that I will be working on implementing:
IN PROGRESS
- Trade Hub support for multiple LPs (4 total for GRAIN-DEC, WOOD-DEC, STONE-DEC, and IRON-DEC).
- NOT STARTED - Add a way to track fees earned for each player's liquidity positions and display that somewhere on the UI.
- NOT STARTED - Allow direct resource-to-resource swaps (i.e. something like GRAIN -> STONE, which behind the scenes will be turned into GRAIN -> DEC and then DEC -> STONE, and handled as one atomic blockchain op).
(Ignore the weird MY SHARE numbers in that last one; that's still a work in progress getting the data right)
10/22/2024 Update
Land 1.75 consists of two sub-phases, and I am currently concentrating my efforts on what I like to think of as phase 1.
..
Here is a summary of Land progress over the past week:
- Castles & Keeps tax collection: finished adding support for collecting wood, stone, and iron taxes. Tested tax claiming to verify it works.
- Grain worksite transition mechanism: finished coding this on the back-end and hooked it into the harvest operation. Did first successful test of it today.
- Added pop-up notification to inform players of when an automatic worksite transition happens.
So far I have been focusing on making sure individual plot harvests are working correctly. Next, I will be turning my attention to Harvest All. In the days ahead, I will add the 3 new resources to Harvest All and make sure that grain worksite transitions work correctly under that scenario as well.
In this test, I had a grain farm on a caldera plot. In Land 1.75, caldera plots provide iron, not grain. So when I harvested my grain, the worksite automatically transformed itself into an ore mine and started producing iron.
This transition happens instantly, no 24 hour wait time like when you manually change to a different worksite. You get your last harvest of grain, and then next time you harvest you'll be getting iron.
Thanks for doing this! I'm looking forward to following your update posts.
I appreciate it! I figured there were people interested in staying up-to-date and I don't think it would be fair to keep this information only in the Land Baron channel!
Thanks for the news ! :)
It is great to see reports like this.Thank you for taking your time to compile this. I did catch the latest update; but I had missed some of the older work.
Even though I'm on team "Land Whenever," I still do appreciate you sharing these Cryptomancer updates here on Hive.
