We've all been there: trying to sell or buy something for a certain price, but end up having a brain fart, or fat fingering the numbers, and being left with buying or selling way more than you wanted too.
Unfortunately, every week, I tend to see this happen within our very own beloved game of Splinterlands.
Welcome To The Splinterlands "Whoops" Moments!
As sad and unfortunate it is to witness such moments, I thought it would be interesting to post about any moments I come across in hopes of promoting awareness when doing literally anything with your cards and assets!
The biggest "whoops" moments tend to occur when listing an asset on the market and they end up forgetting to add an extra zero at the end. Or, another common cause is when trying to put a card on the rental market, but instead, they put it on the sales market and end up selling it for the same price as one would rent it for a day.
Whatever the cause may be, please be careful anytime you are dealing with moving your assets around! If you aren't careful, you will not only lose a lot of value, but you may also find yourself in my next weekly post!
Please Note:
In order to preserve anonymity and not expose those who made simple mistakes, I have covered all personal information possible. We aren't here to make fun of the victims, instead, we are here to learn from their mistakes.
1 BCX Phantasm - Sold for $47.00!
At the time of purchase, this card's average price was $0.11. The owner of this card saw a 47,727% increase in value!
This card was sold on Atomic Hub.
1 Untamed Card Pack - Sold for $0.79!
At the time of purchase, Untamed card packs were selling for just under $7.00. This lucky buyer got away with only paying $0.79, which was a 886% decrease in value!
This card pack was sold on Atomic Hub.
1 BCX Gold Foil Legendary Kralus - Sold for $35.00!
At the time of purchase, a Gold Foil Legendary Kralus was listed at the lowest price of $300. Unfortunately for this seller, it looks like they intended to put this card on the rental market for 35 DEC, instead of the sales market for $35.
This card was sold on peakmonsters.
What Can We Learn From This?
First, if you find an amazing deal like the ones posted above, please be on the lookout for people trying to reach you in hopes of correcting their mistake. You will be properly rewarded for your honest actions if you do, and it will only make our community stronger.
Secondly, please just double, or even triple, check any transactions you make with your assets! You can never be too careful in this space as you know everything is irreversible!
Third, if you witnessed a "whoops" moment and would like to share it, please comment on this post! If I need more content for future posts, or the mistake is something new that I haven't covered, I may use it and reward the person with a card!
They should separate the Sell and Rent screens to reduce these types of mistakes.
Yeah, two different icons would be ideal.
I almost did it when I was first listing cards for rent
