Splinterlands Art Contest Week 237: SISTINA

in #splinterlands2 years ago

Good day guys, Here's my entry for the Splinterlands Art Contest, this is my first entry however and I'm glad to be participating. To join, click here

I was purely inspired by Catholic chapel paintings and their colorful windows and ceilings or in proper terms the cubism art movement which later broke into futurism, suprematism, Op art and geometric abstraction.

The way colors were mixed to create this style of art was always and is fascinating to me.

Learning this new style of art would definitely improve my workflow and texturing for 3D work in Blender and so I decided to study and research

PROCESS:
I started by creating grids, infact I did mix between Polar grids, rectangular grids and square grids, I then proceeded to shape building and preparing harmonious colors to texture my work. After shape building, the rest was seamless.

I added effects like crystallize and 3D extrude and some noise textures for variations.

What I really love about this art movement is that it is mathematical, it isn't organic like figure drawing and landscape drawing but this was fun overall. I tried a few other things as I created about four artboards for experimenting.

I have shared screenshots and some of my art. Please leave a comment telling what you think about my art.
