Splinterfriends... the time is upon us... In addition to the normal modes... Survival Mode is "entering the chat" on Thursday, after this Season concludes!!!
It is going to be a knock down, drag out fight for the ages!! If you haven't been paying attention... Survival Mode is where when your Card or Team reach 0 HP... They become UNUSABLE for a set period of time...
Ok... Unusable HOW?!? Well... you can't use them to Battle, Brawl, on Land... NOTHING... They are in TIME OUT until they "Recover" and their recovery time is dictated by their Set, Rarity, Level and RF/GF... The team noted that "Recovery Potions" would be available in the future... but for now... it's time to put your Collection where your mouth is...
Who's got the biggest CP out there... Time to put up or shut up!!
Now... according to the latest Splinterlands post about it, there are Leaderboards and the rewards are League based - because that's what a lot of people wanted! They do in fact listen to us!
Kudos to whomever penned the bit about the Leaderboards in the Official Splinterlands Survival Post - it was hilarious!
The Leaderboard Rewards will be paid out in Glint... LOTS OF GLINT... So I hope you're ready to earn your share!!
It seems to me that many of the players are preparing in different ways - whether they go the Max Card Route or the the 1 BCX Horde Route... I think there will be a major limiting factor: Summoners.
If you have a Monster and it dies, no problem... you might have a spare or three laying around...
But how many of us have multiple max copies of Summoners?? I am thinking that's where Survival Mode will separate the Men from the Boys.
Imagine you have a Yodin or a Llama... unless you're @Vugtis... you probably don't have more than 1... if that... So what happens when you lose a team with your "Power Summoner" on it... #yikes
Personally, I am interested in Survival Mode but I want to see how it plays out for a season or three before I jump into it!
I mean I barely have enough cards to be relatively competitive in Wild... but there's no way I can play Survival Mode well enough with what I have laying around.
However... I think this is actually a positive thing...
I know... that seems a little counter-intuitive right? Well... consider this... the Leaderboards are "League Based" and they go out to the top 100 spots...
Well... I don't think there will be that many accounts who can compete in the "Top Slots"... so I think that will give the "Regular Guy" a chance to play well and end up on the Leaderboard 😊
If you haven't taken the time to load up on the cheap cards... you better snag some CL & Reward Cards before all the cheap BCX is scooped up!!
All in all, I am excited to try out the new #SurvivalMode for Splinterlands and uhhh... a little bonus teaser: I hope you've been stockpiling your Grain Producing Lands... they're getting expensive!

Naturally, after everything leading up to this moment, I do think Splinterlands and Soulkeep are some of the BEST web3 games out there!

I just cannot see myself using this mode much...
I want to see how it plays out but I think it will be interesting - more versatility = more demand :)
I think it'll be popular, but I have this feeling it will be even more popular when Chaos Legion rotates out modern. People who like spamming the crap out of those cards now will likely not want to switch to Wild because of the pass, but maybe Survival Mode will offer them a way to still play with those cards and earn a little something.
I will only be playing extra cards in Survival Mode, though. While I do have a few extra max level summoners, I don't have a ton of them. I think 1 bcx cards will still be relatively competitive because there simply aren't that many people with tons of max level cards.
GF cards are going to come in handy!

I think survival is for the really large accounts, which is fine, it'll drive card demand which benefits us all 👌

Its hard to see a max level yodin in wood league 🤣 up against my level 1 cards 🤣.
Not sure yet if its fun enough but will give it a season or two, until the bots take over probably.
