Good morning my fellow Hivers and Splinterfriends!!
Today I am going to post a small list of helpful things I have learned over my time here on Hive.
By no means is this meant to be a complete or comprehensive list... but I hope a few people can find it helpful if they are looking to improve their Hive Presence as "Content Creators".
In fact, this is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg!! I will make more of these as I have typed quite a bit and I realized that I barely scratched the surface so I came back up here to type this!!
While this may seem like a silly question, there are a number of reasons I could state to support "Why you should have a Hive presence"... but let's start with the what I mean by that...
I am using that term to describe the collective sum of a persons "Followers, Staked Hive Power, 'Reputation', Posts, Interactions, Upvotes and a very subjective measurement 'Quality of Content'.
Well... if you want to create content on Hive and earn more than a few shillings for your work... The BIGGER your Hive Presence... the more you will Earn... whether you post or not!
One of the BIGGEST misconceptions anyone can and does have, myself included... "I wrote it... therefore... people will like it.".
You know what... that may be true... let's even assume it's true... but even if you come out of the gate with a ZINGER... This isn't Facebook... or Instagram... or X... or whatever.
This is Hive... look down at your Followers/Following... does it look something like this [1/0] or maybe [0/4]...
Yeah listen... I may be a relative rookie when it comes to Hive Content... but I am a fucking VET and a STUD when it comes to Sales and Customer Service (go find the posts in my Blog if you'd like)... my point is this - and you might want to embed it in your frontal lobe...
With that being said... this isn't Insta... you aren't chasing clout... who gives a fuck about your Follow/Following ratio!!
Stop being a Princess, get out there and start following people who publish content you like!!!!!
If you interact with them on their posts... if you Upvote them... if you follow them... (these are all what I call a "give")... you may eventually earn a follow back (a "get").
So... take your hopes, dreams and ego... ball them up and throw them in the bin. I have on Hive, unless you are willing to "Give"... you aren't going to "Get" very much... which means you will probably write a few "bangers"... not get much traction... get frustrated quickly and give up... like I did... Several. Times. Lol.
In order to be moderately successful at this whole Hive Content Creator thing... you need to find people in the same genre... follow them... interact with them and organically grow your own following.
You don't have to limit this to just one niche either!! Fortunately for us Splinterlands players... we have a built in Community!!!
Let's talk about the Splinterlands Community for a second... to be fair... a lot of us are a bunch of feral, raving, degens... 😬
But we ARE a community of them!!
immediately.If you are new to Hive and you play Splinterlands... the NUMBER ONE... SUPER IMPORTANT thing to do... is follow the @splinterlands page
This is where you can find a TON of useful info, fellow players and Hivers, get ideas, share ideas and more!!
But the BIGGEST benefit for the budding Content Creator... The Splinterlands Curation Team and their "Promos".
The Splinterlands Team will post a number of "Promos" - Art Contests, Social Media Contests, Battle Contests and many, many more!!
If you find one of these you like... and you publish a quality piece (just read/follow their rules)... you can earn a MONSTER upvote from them, TWICE a week!
I am talking 5,6,7,10 HP Upvotes!! Plus, if they Upvote you, many others will see the Upvote and it will help you grow your following in this group... which will help you each day...
I mean think of growing you following similar to how you would approach trading... Would it be easier to get a Whale to follow you (100x) or would it be easier to get a few people with smaller upvotes to follow you (2x)...
Well... obviously getting the attention of a Whale isn't easy and you really need to earn it by contributing regular, quality content and Staking your earnings... if you're not Staking what you earn... what commitment are you showing to Hive?
These Whales are heavily invested in Hive and they won't spend their limited Upvotes on people who are only here to make some quick Crypto... only to extract it from the ecosystem.
So let's say you get 100 Followers with .01 Hive Upvotes... isn't that the same as 1 follower with a 1 Hive Upvote?
Bingo - go out, find topics you like and enjoy this as both a Social Media platform where you can reward people who make quality content with a upvote (Give) and don't worry so much about what you get...
Oh yeah... bonus for those who read this far... When you Upvote... 50% of that vote you don't LOSE anything for voting... but when the Payout happens... you receive 50% of your Upvote as Reward for simply using Hive as your Social Media platform!
.1 HP Upvote = .05 HP Payout per vote...
1 HP Upvote = .5 HP Payout per vote
10 HP Upvote = 5 HP Payout... PER. VOTE...
Just another reason to power up that Hive you receive for your content 😁
Anyways... I have become SUPER LONG winded and didn't even really post about what I wanted to talk about... but I realized it was more important to lay down some of the fundamentals I have learned!
Here's what I originally wanted to post and what's coming up on my next "Hive Tips from a Semi-n00b":

I have been writing on Peak'd for several years now. I was frustrated with my growth & "lack of engagement"... so I gave up.
Got back on it a bit later... gave up again.
Got back on again... still hit or miss with my posts & results... so I whined about it.
That didn't do much.
Fortunately, my whining I did catch the attention of a few people & one of them gave me some INCREDIBLE advice... since then I have improved and improved and improved... so here's my top 10 pieces of advice for Hive.
- Invest in Hive or else why would whales want to "invest in you" - since that is what a Vote is...
- Be genuine and organic
- Start small, grow small and one day, when you look back - all of the grains of sand will become a beautiful beach. (Grow your account 1 follower at a time)
- Interact with those on Hive - how else will they know you exist??
- Comment, upvote on others. Reply to comments on your posts. DO NOT UPVOTE YOUR OWN STUFF - I learned this was a "no-no" the hard way lol - whoops!
- The more you give, I assure you - the more you will receive!
- Be helpful. Be kind. Be grateful.
- I recently heard a 5 x 5 x 5 rule "the rule of 5" or something... 5 Posts per week. 5 Comments and 5 Upvotes per day. Do that as a minimum and your Hive following will blossom 🙂
I have not learned 9 or 10 yet... I am still learning and writing and learning and making mistakes and run on sentences lmaoooo... you get the point.
8* - "the rule of 5"... I can't 100% speak on the effectiveness of this... because I work 2.5 jobs and write 2-3 articles per week on a good week... but I do aim for the 5 Comments/Votes per day though!!
Being active and consistent has allowed me to grow my following much faster than before and I follow them too - because the more people you interact with, the better!
That's the point of Hive, right 🐝

Modest number for sure but my intention is to help them understand they can Blog/Vlog/etc and if they stack their Rewards for 4+ years... they will earn an INSANE paycheck next Bull Cycle and Beyond :)

Hello and sorry for the late response.
the two commands get you upvotes from two curation trails.
For hiqvote those who have HIQS tokens can send this command and the curation upvote depends on the amount of tokens they have.
For example, I have 300 HIQS and you got these votes.
Discovery-it is a curation project, and some time ago they asked me to be a curator for them.
When I write the discovery X command you get a vote from the curation trail of this project but the vote on your post did not come in and it sometimes happens when the vp of the project is too low
