Hello guys, my name is Yokosama and im back in here with another Battle Mage Challenge.
This week the ruleset is Melee Mayhem
So here is my Battle
Alongside Melee Mayhem we have What does not kill you a.k.a. Enrage
And Healed out or no heals available
Plus its a 17 mana cap with nearly all splinters available .
And the last one is very important for me.
When the mana cap is low in MM ruleset i never use melee cards for damage but more likely for ''meatshield''.
My team
Obsidian - Summoner
Chaos Agent - tank
Fungus Fiend - meatshield
Queen Mycelia - support\dmg dealer
Mycelic Morphoid - meat shield
Dr.Blight - dmg dealer
Djinn BilJka - dmg dealer
My opponent's
Kelya Frendul - Summoner
Djinn Oshannus - tank dmg dealer
Venator Kinjo - support
Torrent fiend - meat shield
Igor Darkspear - Range dmg dealer
Two Gun Pete - Range dmg dealer
For me both teams has their advantages but the three most important cards here are Djinn Oshannus, Chaos Agent and Dr.Blight. Even thought the Doctor is OP if it wasn't for the poison i might have lost this one.
Oshannus is one of my favorite cards and here he have the perfect combinations of skills to block magic damage. The third card is Chaos Agent and i think here it's very important one because 1st in 17 mana cap if someone has 4 dmg to kill it that means that their team will be with fewer cards so it would be 1 card with 4 dmg and others will be supports or meatshields. So with that out of the way i knew that if they inflict dmg to this 1 mana cost card it will become with 6 speed(in this case 5 because of the Kinjo speed manipulation.With dodge/phase and 5 or 6 speed i knew it will be a pain in the *** for my opponent. So lets see how it goes.
First round
The Chaos Agent is enraged and it cost my opponent 4 attacks to kill it.
After the 2nd round started my opponent killed my fungus but his tank/main magic dmg was with 2 health with no heals and poison on his head.So the things looked pretty good for me.
Because of the Phase Oshannus stand strong till the start of round 3 were the poison take it's toll.
After that they manage to kill my Queen but the OP card showed who the real boss is.
So after a few more rounds it was over.
For me Melee Mayhem is one of the rulesets that should be played with different mindset depending of the mana cap and the splinters that are available.
With other words if its under 23-24 mana i usually go for mixed dmg mainly magic if possible. If its around 40-48 i go mainly melee with few support abilities and if its over 48 i go with high speed manipulations and taunt tanks ideally lurker in the back something with thorns in the front or retaliate.
