Video: Road to gold - Week 1 - Buying and opening packs
The long-awaited day of the launch of the general sale of chaos legion pack is finally here. And I have to say, it went much better than I expected. It took a while until the exchange DEC -> Credits was done but that was to be expected.
I bought 11 packs right at the start, 10 I opened the next day (see video), 1 pack I will give away at the start of the second week, how exactly I will explain in another blog post.
But let's take a look at what we got in the 10 packs, was it worth it? Am I satisfied?
Pack 1 / 10
The first pack was definitely a very good start. We have our first Summoner with Obsidian and Silent Sha-vi is also very nice. A value of $4.20 is really good.
Pack 2 / 10
The second pack unfortunately couldn't maintain the level, very basic and therefore only a value of $0.39.
Pack 3 / 10
Pack 3 contained the first golden one, a Scavo Hireling. Thats not too bad, he is useful in some setups, nice to have him in golden. Pelacor Arbalest is also pretty cool I think, if I am going the General Sloan road he will be a sure upgrade.
Pack 4 / 10
Pack 4 brought us the first epic card, the Acid shooter, alongside with two rare ones. A pretty decent pick but as you see the value is only $1.56.
Pack 5 / 10
Pack 5 contained the first 2 water cards, both of them pretty cool and I am already using them a lot. However the value of just under a dollar is not so impressive.
Pack 6 / 10
Pack 6 is nothing special besides the second epic card Dex Paragon. He boosts the value to $1.80. Still underwhelming.
Pack 7 / 10
And another gold card in the 7. pack. And Cruel Sethropod is also really cool in low mana water matches. But even with the gold one, the pack still not worth the price of $4.
Pack 8 / 10
Another Pelacor Arbalest which is cool, but overall the value is decreasing once more.
Pack 9 / 10
Two epic on, not so bad. This one is a decent pack I think.
Pack 10 / 10
So we kept the best pack for the last. We had our first Tarsa and an epic Temporal Master. A whooping value of $7.88 makes this by far the best pack.
Conclusion
All in all, opening the packs has clearly shown that it is not worth buying packs, at an average value of $2.47.
But it's definitely exciting, so it might be worth the money.
We have gained 1,145 CP, so we are at 7,060 CP. We haven't played yet as our capture rate is still a little bit low and I want to buy some cards before starting playing.
Here is the updated overview:
Type | To-date | Change | Goal |
---|---|---|---|
Collection Power | 7,060 | - | 15,000 |
Rating | 525 | - | >1,900 |
League | Bronze I | - | Gold III |
Thats it for today. I will be back with another update once I bought the cards from the market.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it a litle bit!

Do you buy potions before opening the packs. If not do it. They are worth it on the long run. In addition at low values it is better to buy packs from the secondary market. The changes for an airdrop care are so low its not justfying the additional cost currently.
Yeah, I am using potions all the time and I should have mentioned it in the text but I only mentioned it in the video. Thanks for your feedback!
