It's a new Season and that means.. we are getting closer and closer to the new set "Conclave Arcana" being released. (I think 2 months or so? not 100% sure)
I am also assuming that the price of DEC is going to increase when those packs go live because people will want to buy the packs. So I am trying to think 'long term' here and start to accumulate some DEC now when I think the price is lower than it will be 2 months from now.
HOWEVER... I can't just have all that DEC in my wallet not doing anything so I have decided to spend some on cards and then I am going to stake the rest on Tribaldex (but more on staking in another post).
Previously I have been buying up Chaos Legion cards because of just how cheap they were compared to Rebellion. Yet with a new set on the Horizon that means Modern format will lose Chaos Legion cards so I need to start stockpiling DEC for Conclave Arcana packs and also Rebellion cards. So today I bought some Rebellion singles!
First I needed to get some DEC. So I took 10 HBD that I earned from posting articles and interacting on PeakD. This has been my main source of income on Hive and what other point is there than to reinvest back into the Hive games I play? I was going to save up 20 HBD to buy another Alpha Vial on Holozing but that is going to have to wait.
So I sent over 10 HBD to Hive-Engine
After the fees I had 9.925 Swap.HBD so I swapped that into DEC
Summoners
Now with 13,213 DEC ready to spend (and save some) I headed over to Monster Market to buy some cards. I know my Summoner game is weak so I picked up enough Summoners to level up 2 of my Rebellion Summoners to Level 2 (it's not much but it's a start).

Spending $3 on levelling up 2 Common Summoners is 'okay'. It is something that was needed. The reason I levelled up these 2 was because they both can play 2 Elements and I think for me that will be the better strategy. Sure having a Summoner that gives abilities is great but in low mana battles every MANA spent matters.

The reason I picked up these 8 cards is solely because I didn't own them yet. So I just bought 1 of each to have on hand and try out. If I find that I use any of them often I will then consider levelling them up from level 1. But again I would need higher level summoners too ugh lol
Spending $1.86 on 8 cards (6 Common, 1 Rare and 1 Epic) is not bad to me.
All in all I spent:
$4.973 or 6625.365 DEC
That is 159.01 in fees after subtracting the cashback.I also paid 397.522 DEC in fees but I earned 238.512 DEC in cashback for using https://monstermarket.io/
So in total I spent 6,784.375 DEC on 15 cards today. I am happy with that.
Levelling Up
First up is my boy Brewmaster Abraxas!
Next up is my girl Zeddica! (I just found out its a girl cause I am an idiot apparently)
AND I am an idiot... I was delegating one of my Zeddica's to my friend @artofkylin who just started playing Splinterlands. And I can't just take it away but I already buy enough cards to level her up... What to Do What to Do?
Well the only sensible thing to do in to unstake the card and then level up Zeddica to Level 2. But because I feel like a stinker-butt for doing that. I went back to MonsterMarket and saw that a Level 2 Zeddica was selling for $2 (because 5 level 1's at $0.40 each is $2).
And a Level 1 Gold Foil is $4.... sooo yeah I bought a Goil Foil Zeddica.
Now I can level up my non Gold Foil Zeddica to Level 2
And delegate that to my friend instead of the Level 1 I was delegating to them. So win for them I guess and now I also get a Gold Foil Zeddica!
That is what happens when you are winging things and not thinking clearly!
My Rebellion Core Cards Update
Let's take a look at what cards I have and what I still need to pick up. I am not trying to get max level cards like other Whales you see around here posting their card pickups. I am just a little dolphin trying to stay afloat!

I am missing 5 out of 24 so not bad. I can pick those up easily enough later.
Rare Core (non Gold Foil)
I am missing 17 out of 23 Rare cards.
Epic Core (non Gold Foil)
I am missing 13 out of 14 Epic cards.
Legendary Core (non Gold Foil)
I am missing 16 out of 16 Legendary cards. I am not sure that I will get any of these but only time will tell.
I would love to get all Common and Rare (non Gold Foil) cards before the new set releases so we will see how that goes and how the prices move on Rebellion cards over the next 2 months.

I think buying a few Rebellion cards is a good decision. In my opinion, the price of the card will not drop as much as for example the Chaos Legion cards, because there are simply a lot less of them.
