We were getting a few question after we made the announcement of starting a Splinterlands league so we wanted to make a post to clear some things up and also update you on some of the things we added since the last post.

For the first season of the league we have three streamers who will be hosting the league games. As time goes on we will add more streamers to cater to the amount of extra teams and matches we will have to display.
Each streamer will be showing a different league games to ensure that you are not watching the same fights. There will be prizes given out during all streams for the viewers who are participating in the tournaments and also usual stream giveaways. We will be having something for everyone to make sure the streams are fun for players and viewers.

For series one of the league, we are aiming to have 10 teams enter. We are trying to have all teams play one game during the week and one battle on the weekend (this can change before the tournament starts).
We will try and time the matches as best we can for both teams but we can only keep things as balanced as we can. All matches will be spread across the 3 streams so we will announce the weekly timetable on Monday of each week so people can request any time changes they need and adjust teams accordingly.
The reason we wanted bench players is because we know not everyone will be able to commit to their day and time as life can get in the way. By having an additional two players on each team, it allows the teams to be more flexible and avoid receiving any penalty points due to not showing up.
At the start of each game, all members of the fighting team will be ready to play once they are called to the battlefield. We will start with Bronze V Bronze. When one of the bronze players win, they have the option to continue playing and fight the opposing teams Silver player. They can continue playing until they are defeated.
If one player wins all their games from the beginning, they can gain extra points for their team. For example, if the bronze player only gets one win, they receive one point for their team. but if they win all 5 games alone, they will receive three team points.
I would suggest having the bronze player of each team to be a universal player as you want to aim for a clean sweep.
We want the fights to feel like fighting in a battle tower trying to reach the top as we believe this will make great entertainment during our league games by occasionally having 1 v Everyone games.
First announced team
The post about the Splinter League only went out a few days ago and we have already had a great reception from it.
At the moment, we have one team that has named five out of 7 players. The captain for this team is @queen-silvia and she has decided her team will consist of @ueyuey, @mathieu, @slaifer-red-01, @daani and @mondroid. We are still awaiting for her two bench players to be announced.
Current captains
As more potential captains are reaching out to us, I would like to announce the current captains we have. Myself (Crypto Zard), @beccss and @bunsbagsandcaps will all be captains of our own teams, and with @queen-silvia in the mix we already have four out of a possible 10 teams.
Although that is four spots for the league filled, myself, Beccss and BunsBagsandCaps have yet to fill our teams as we are still scouting. If you would like to join one of our teams please reach out to us on Discord and message the person whose team you would like to be on.
Draft team
As we know, it may be hard for people to get a full team together so what we will be doing is adding a draft team into the league. We will be drafting a captain, four main team players and two bench players to play in this team. Each season we will redraft this team to keep everything fair and allow new players to enter the league. As the league expands and gets bigger (hopefully) then we can add more draft teams to the league.
Draft system
The way we will be drafting the role for the team will be through a death wheel. The last person standing will be the captain and the 6 people who came out prior to the captain will make up the rest of the team. It will then be up to the team to decide who plays in what league and who are the bench players.
If we can find a better and more fun system to do the drafting process before the league launch, we will update you.
Team relegation
We want to have a way to be able to keep the same teams in the league but also have a way to add a new team to the league. At the moment, we have decided that we are going to relegate the bottom team from the season and replace them with a different team. This will happen each season so you do have time to work on your league level or tweak your teams.
As the league get bigger due to more teams wanting to enter, we will increase the limit of teams in the league we will also increase the number of teams that will get relegated.
As the league is just starting, and it is a grassroot league, the current prize pool is 1000 DEC for each playing member of the winning team for each match, and each season the winning team (including bench players) will get 1000 DEC and a pack each.
The prizes may change before the league starts if we find a sponsor for the league, but we will be contacting parties constantly so we can make the prizes better as soon as we can.
