Hey SplinterMates, Hey SplinterMates, how are doing? In today´s post I would like to share my thoughts on what scholars should and shouldn´t do.
I personally got just one Splinterlands account, so I don´t have any scholarship. But in any, the following article describes what I would expect and how I would behaive.
And as always, before starting, I encourage all Splinterlands players to participate in these challenges to increase the visibility of our game. If you are interesed, you can find more details about how to participate in the challenge under following link.
What are scholars in Splinterlands?
So before we start explaining what scholars should do in Splinterlands, it is worth In Splinterlands, scholars are players who are typically given the opportunity to play using assets (like cards and resources) provided by a manager or owner, often in exchange for a percentage of the rewards earned. Here’s what scholars should focus on to make the most of their experience in the game:
1- Master Gameplay and Strategy
Splinterlands is a strategy-based trading card game where players need to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each card (monsters and summoners) to build winning decks.
Scholars should study different splinters (factions) and their abilities, as well as learn effective combinations and counter-strategies against various lineups.
Regularly analyzing battle logs and practicing in lower-stakes matches can improve a scholar’s strategic skills.
2- Optimize Daily and Seasonal Rewards
Scholars should aim to complete daily quests and achieve high ranks in the seasonal leaderboard to maximize their rewards.
Focusing on daily and seasonal goals can help accumulate more rewards, which may include cards, potions, and DEC (Dark Energy Crystals).
Sometimes happens that you start losing games and you have a bad loosing streak. My strategy is to switch from Modern to Wild to see if I can still continue playing and winning some battles. In order to optimize Daily Rewards, you need to use the available energy wisely.
3- Accumulate and Manage DEC and SPS
DEC (Dark Energy Crystals) is the in-game currency, while SPS (Splintershards) is the governance token. Scholars can earn now (it was different in the past) burning the SPS won battles based on the performance.
DEC can be reinvested into the game for card rentals, upgrading cards, or entering tournaments, depending on the agreement with the manager.
If I would have a scholar account, I would use the earned SPS rewards to improve the deck of the account by buying meta cards. I personally consider that the Rebellion legendary summoners are a must and are currently meta.
Accumulating SPS might also give scholars access to staking rewards, governance voting, and more, so they should consider staking any SPS they earn if it aligns with their goals.
4- Participate in Guilds and Guild Brawls
This is for my favourite part of the game. Guilds and Guild Brawls. I am one of the OFFICERs of my Guild - NFG Club - Legion 1. This is the first Guild I joined in Splinterlands and some of the members participate actively in each Guild Brawl.
Scholars should participate actively in guild activities, as guilds often provide SPS bonuses, special items, and other benefits.
Also participating in Guild Brawls provides additional SPS rewards based on the performance of the guild. In these battles you can also continue improving your strategy. I share with you what are potential SPS rewards at our Tier 2 Guild.
5- Explore Tournaments for Additional Rewards
Tournaments provide another gaming experience that for lot of players is unknown. I consider that currently the level of players participating in these tournaments is very high and is getting very hard to get to the top places. I share with you the tournament where I am participating live right now. As you can see, it´s a very poor performance 😝:
Scholars with a good grasp of the game mechanics can enter tournaments, which can yield substantial rewards in DEC, cards, and sometimes other assets.
Some tournaments have minimal entry requirements, making it a low-risk way to earn more, provided scholars understand their lineup’s strengths.
6- Maintain Communication with the Manager
To ensure smooth operations, scholars should keep open lines of communication with their managers. This includes discussing strategies, sharing updates on progress, and ensuring that terms (like the split of rewards) are clear and fair.
Many managers appreciate feedback and may offer better cards or support if scholars show commitment and improvement.
7- Stay Updated on Game Updates and Meta Shifts
Splinterlands frequently updates its card abilities, gameplay mechanics, and economy. Staying informed on changes, like buffs, nerfs, or adjustments to the meta, can give scholars a competitive edge.
Active scholars should follow Splinterlands forums, Discord channels or some very good streamers/ youtubers like @aftersound, @bulldog1205, @infidel1258, @thepeoplesguild or @tales-f-t-crypto. You can also find very valuable information in Peakd under my guild mates @nozem01 blog.
8- Adhere to Terms of Service and Ethics
Following the game’s terms of service is crucial. Multi-accounting or exploiting bugs can result in penalties or bans, which would impact both the scholar and manager.
Honesty and good sportsmanship are key for maintaining a reputable presence in the Splinterlands community.
9- Conclusion:
So if I would need to summarize what a scholar should do, it would be --> Focus on skill improvement, maximize rewards, and cultivate a good relationship with their manager.
