Today I will talk about a great summoner from the water deck and he is called Alric Stormbringer, although many use Obsidian from the earth deck I particularly prefer the magic cards from the water deck, I believe it has a greater variety and also many incredible abilities to if use.
But as the focus of the post will be to show Alric Stormbringer in a battle so I will show what he is useful for and then the battle.
As shown in the image above and also as I mentioned before Alric Stormbringer is a summoner of the water deck and is a rare alpha/beta edition card and because it is from this edition both its price to buy and to rent are high but worth each penny spent because he is a very useful summoner in this deck.
The image above also shows your levels and how the summoner system works to have higher level cards in fields and also the power of the card but these are things you may already know and are not useful for this post so I won't explain.
Alric Stormbringer's main and unique function is to grant +1 magic attack to allied cards on the field and this may seem like little since he only grants attack and there are other summoners in this deck that offer more things. And yes you are right and it seems little compared to others but the water deck is full of magic cards and these cards have abilities that can make up for Alric's lack of utility, but he granting +1 magic attack is very important because the attack magic directly attacks the enemy card's health so you won't have to worry about cards that have a shield, so this is a big advantage that melee and ranged cards don't have, besides cards that have the Void ability are less common than cards that have the Shield skill.
The Void ability causes the magic damage taken by the card that has it to be reduced, so magic cards would have a hard time against this ability.
The Shield skill has the same effect as the Void skill but the difference is that the reduced damage is from melee and ranged attacks so spell cards would not be affected by it and that's an advantage they have.
What I mean is that magic cards have more advantages than melee and ranged cards so granting them more attack might seem like little but it's a big deal.
Now let's talk about the battle that is the focus of this post.
For this battle I chose the summoner Alric Stormbringer and his function will be to grant +1 attack to my spell cards.
For the first position I chose Kelp Initiate which is a card that doesn't have an attack but is a good option for defense because it has a low mana cost and also a reasonable amount of health, in addition to a good speed to dodge attacks.
For the second position I chose Djinn Oshannus which is a magic card with a lot of health and the Void ability that reduces the magic damage received, in addition he has a lot of speed and also a high attack thanks to Alric Stormbringer.
For the third position I chose Deeplurker which is a melee card that has the Opportunity ability that makes it attack the lowest health card so it is a very useful card in battle.
In fourth position I chose Ice Pixie which is a low mana cost magic card, but it has good speed and a reasonable attack and also the Fly ability that makes it have a good chance to dodge attacks that don't have this abiliity.
In the fifth position I chose Venari Wavesmith which is also a magic card and it is one of the cards I mentioned that has the ability to overcome Alric's lack of utility since he has the Protect ability that grants +2 shield to all cards allies, so enemy melee and ranged cards will have difficulty in this battle thanks to him.
And in the sixth position I chose Xenith Archer which is a low mana cost ranged card, but I chose him more to fill the position because I only had 2 mana left to use, but it's a useful card anyway and it gets better at higher levels.
Now that I'm done explaining the composition for this battle so I'm going to show it.
In this battle both teams chose many similar cards but the big difference is the summoners.
On the opposing side he chose Kelya Frendul that grants speed and shield, and on my side we have Alric Stormbringer that grants magic attack, in addition he has a card that heals so his focus is defensive and mine is offensive, but who will be who will win this battle?
In this round not much happened because his defense is strong but he didn't do much damage to my cards either.
In the second round he defeated one of my cards and as most of my cards are magic and he also has the Djinn Oshannus who has the Void ability that makes it difficult for me to damage him and in addition he heals thanks to Merdaali Guardian from their team so it's pretty hard to do damage but my Deeplurker is doing damage to the back cards little by little.
In the third round I managed to defeat one of his carats thanks to Deeplurker but both sides are having trouble defeating cards.
In the fourth round he defeated my Ice Pixie, but the attack remains the same on both sides and my next target is his Venari Wavesmith.
In the fifth round I defeated his Venari Wavesmith and that decreases a part of his defense because he grants 2 shield to enemy cards so it was a positive point in this round.
In the sixth round I manage to take Merdaali Guardian's shield from him so she is vulnerable and defeating her will be very important because she heals Djinn Oshannus and that makes it very difficult to defeat him.
In the seventh round I defeated Merdaali Guardian so he no longer has the cure for Djinn Oshannus and now the battle becomes much easier.
In the eighth round the battle remains the same but I have more attacks than him, but even so it's hard to say who will win because he has more speed.
In the ninth round his Djinn Oshannus was defeated so I have the advantage but my Djinn Oshannus is low on health.
In the tenth round my Djinn Oshannus is defeated and only Deeplurker is left on the field, so it's a Deeplurker vs Deeplurker battle.
And in the eleventh round I managed to defeat his last card on the field and get the victory.
It was a very long and tense battle but it was an excellent battle to watch so I am happy with the victory. Also both teams had very similar cards but the biggest difference was the summoners so I think Alric Stormbringer is still a better choice than Kelya Frendul because I believe my opponent had the advantage because of the Merdaali Guardian that healed.
But it was a great battle and that's what matters and that was my challenge this week. Thanks for reading.
