Day 1:
After going to the rating of 1.6k last season using death cards, it became unreasonably difficult to climb up the rank because my cards were countered by earth-magic strat by a large margin, so much that I just climb up and down between the rating of 1.5k and 1.6k until the season. And I lost all hope last season, however, truth be told with only a month of experience, I have so much to explore in the world of Splinterlands. I used to copy other people styles, take some inspiration between their cards, build, positioning, synergy etc. And towards the end of the season from 400 rating, I rushed up to 1.6k using rented Zintar Mortalis Lv.2, Haunted Spirit Lv.2 and Twisted Jester Lv.2 as the core of my deck. With 12 mana it will be a sure win against anything and almost invincible until 17 mana game. And I mainly encountered earth-magic users when mana reacher over 20, and 24-30 were their breeding grounds. 8/10 people uses earth-magic in that mana-frame. And that leaves me frustrated when I saw that much of mana. And I will be lying if I said that I was not intoxicated by winning and not obsessed using the death cards.
After my failure last season, the noob me consulted to our friends and discord about the death card that can counter the earth magic, and experts guided me to the one and only, Magi Necrosi. I mainly familiarize myself using the guy within this period of time, and it increases the chances of winning against the earth-magic, but it was not absolute. My craving couldn't be satisfied anymore and turned my gaze into the market. Looking on different cards, not limiting my self to the death cards which I love, and soon after I saw a light, mainly the dragon cards! And with neutral cards and a card of element of choice which can build the synergy between the two, my dream could be accomplished! And I know the potential is there, although feasibility is an entirely different matter. And although, pretty much of the dragon card within common and rare rarity is dull, of course basing in my so called "knowledge" (I'm an expert wannabe). After studying skills and cards I mainly selected six cards which later I took down one because it will exceed the thirty mana limit, and up until now I didn't have the replacement.
The cards are the following:
Summoner: Delwyn Dragonscale
Stats: Dragon/Promo/Common/Lv.3/Mana:5/CP:150/+1Magic Damage
Splinters:
Tank: Disintegrator
Stats: Neutral/Chaos Legion/Common/Lv.3/Mana:7/CP:70/Skill:Demoralize(-1Physical Attack)/Physical Attack:2/MS:1/Shield:2/Health:5
Note: "should" be good against melee attacker that has two or more physicla attack. Has enough self-preservatio, however, a not very ideal tank.
Healer Support: Venari Crystalsmith
Stats: Life/Reward/Rare/Lv.2/Mana:4/Skill:Tank Heal(Heal Frontliner)/Range Attack:1/MS:2/Health:4
Note: "should" be a passable support, fragile but better amongst peers, cost effective. Must be positioned well to provide effective healing. Can also provide certain amount of damage due to summoner's buff.
Crowd Control Support: Time Mage
Life/Chaos Legion/Rare/Lv.3/Mana:4/ Skill:Slow(-1MS)/Magic Damage:1/MS:4/Health:3
Note: a tactical support-cum-damage dealer, fragile, however, compensated through higher MS, has higher centainly to deal damage before dying of unknown cause. Has a helpful skill.
Special Slot: Werewolf Crystal
Stats:Light/Reward/Rare/Lv.2/Mana:5/Skill:Silence(-1Magic Damage)/Physical Attack:1/MS:2/Health:5
Note: a card whose main purpose is to suppress magic cards. Practically useless, his survival is the utmost important.
Tactical Damage Dealer: Serpentine Mystic
Stats: Dragon/Reward/Rare/Lv.2/Mana:3/Skill: Affliction(enemy attack couldn't heal)/Magic Damage:1/MS:1/Health:3
Note: Very good against that earth-magic healer, could also deal damage albeit low ms, other than that it is merely used to fill up the line.
Axed Down: Truthspeaker
Note: we all know her, aside from the fact there there isn't enough mana, her skill is useless in front of magic.
Substitute: Warrior of Peace
Note: pretty much disintegrator with no attack and shield but has higher health and ms that doesn't seem to have use, also has demoralize skill, same mana cost.
Overall note: the stats I inputted were the level 1 stats facepalm and I couldn't bothered to changed it. This deck is, I know, a complete nonsense, it is pretty average and will get demolished but as long as there is potential I will try to study it in this few days. Additionally, this deck is really average, a jack of all trades and master of none. Time Mage skill is useless in front of earth who has high ms but will do pretty well against water, fire and light, and maybe dark. Demoralize is also isn't practically helpful against earth-magic but I think will do well against other elements, the only shit that could truly suppress the earth magic is the crystal werewolf which will be practically useless against other elements, the other could just do their job and carry their useless team.
And that's all! I'll be studying this set of card and if it can be used for climbing the rank! This Noob aims for the peak! Lets meet at the top ten guys, if ever.
