Hello Splinterlands Community! For the Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge this week I will share some of expertise in the battlefield using the two card combo that I am utilizing most of the time on my ranked battles and guild brawls. The spotlight for the engagement challenge this week is about card strategy guides. This includes team compositions and card combinations that is proven to be effective in the battlefield. I have used a lot of card combinations on my battles and I can say that every card combination and team compositions has its own unique strength and weaknesses which makes the game more challenging. I will share a specific combination that I believe is very effective in ranked matches and guild brawls. This card combination would be effective against the enemy team that has a team composition of low health monsters. I am going to talk more about the card combination and share its strengths and limitations in the battlefield so that you will have an idea on when to deploy this card combination on your battles.
Quora Towershead Deadly Combo
FUNGUS FLINGER | VENARI MARKSRAT | |

+
The two card combination that I am talking about is the tandem of Fungus Flinger or Venari Marksrat plus Quora Towershead which would bring mayhem in the battlefield if the conditions are met with this two card combination. The primary setup of the Quora Towershead deadly combination is by placing either Fungus Flinger or Venari Marksrat in front of Quora Towershead in the battlefield. It is advisable to placed Fungus Flinger or Venari Marksrat followed by Quora Towershead as the main goal of this card combination is to buff up the overall stats of Quora Towershead using the Martyr ability coming from Venari Marksrat or Fungus Flinger. This makes Quora Towershead more unstoppable in the battle if it was able to receive the buff coming from the Martyr ability. This card combination is very lethal especially if the enemy team consists of low health monsters as Quora Towershead is capable of dealing magic and melee damage at the same time which allows this unit to take down enemy monsters immediately. If this happens, the Bloodlust ability of this unit will trigger and will make this unit more stronger and powerful as the match progresses. I will talk about more on the units in these card combination as well as the limitations of this card combination so that you would be aware on the scenarios where this card combination is not much effective on the ranked battles and guild brawls.
Fungus Flinger
This is a common earth unit that deals ranged damage to the enemy team and belongs to the Chaos Legion set reward cards. It has a very low amount of health and it has the Martyr ability. That ability gives the adjacent units of Fungus Flinger an overall increase on stats whenever this unit was taken down. This ability is the primary core of this card combination as the effects of Martyr ability would be very beneficial for Quora Towershead. The overall buff on the stats is very useful for Quora Towershead and it will allow that unit to take down enemy monsters smoothly.
Venari Marksrat
This is a common neutral unit that deals ranged damage to the enemy team and belongs to the Chaos Legion set reward cards as well. It has a very low amount of health and it has the Martyr ability which is similar with Fungus Flinger. Both Fungus Flinger and Venari Marksrat have the same stats and ability which makes both units very much similar with one another. This makes the Quora Towershead deadly combination more flexible as there are options to choose from. There are also other units in the game that has the Martyr ability which can be considered but this two units that I have mentioned is the most suited and appropriate to use for this card combination.
Quora Towershead
This is an epic earth unit that deals melee and magic damage to the enemy team at the same time and it belongs to the Gladius set. It has a great amount of health which makes this unit a great frontline unit for the team. It has the Heal ability which allows this unit to restore an amount of health each round. This gives sustainability to this unit and the health that this unit restored each round scales up on the overall health of this unit. As mentioned it deals melee and magic damage at the same time to the enemy unit which allows this unit to take down the enemy monsters and triggers the Bloodlust ability which grants overall buff to this unit making it more unstoppable in the battlefield. This overall buff from Bloodlust ability is also portrayed by the Martyr ability coming from Fungus Field and Venari Marksrat. This is the reason why it is important to placed Fungus Field or Venari Marksrat in front of Quora Towershead in order to maximize its effect.
Limitations
There are also limitations for this card combination that needs to be discussed as well. This limitations are the rulesets that can be present in the ranked battle or guild brawls that makes this card combination unable to be used or not be utilized very well. I will walkthrough on the rulesets that I believe is disadvantageous for this card combination so that if you are planning to use this card combination on your battles you will have a heads up and an idea on alternative ways to build the team composition for the battle.
Back to Basics
This ruleset removes all abilities on every monsters in the battlefield. This makes the match plain and simple where all units present in the match would have to rely on their basic stats without relying on their respective abilities. This brings a huge advantage for this card combination as it mostly relies on the card abilities which are Martyr, Bloodlust and Heal abilities which makes the card combination very lethal and destructive in the battlefield.
Broken Arrows
This ruleset does not allow ranged monsters to be deployed in the battlefield. This makes only melee, magic and non-damage units to become available for the match. This ruleset brings a significant impact on the card combination as this ruleset would not allow Venari Marksrat or Fungus Flinger to be deployed for the match. This reduces the impact that Quora Towershead can bring in the match as the effects of the Martyr ability would be missing and Quora Towershead would start from scratch in increasing its overall stats by taking down enemy units.
Shades of Gray
This ruleset does only allows neutral element monsters to be used in the match. It makes the match based on neutral element units where Quora Towershead would not become available. It makes the card combination unable to be used since only Venari Marksrat is available for this match if this ruleset is present. However the card combination can be approached in a different way for this type of match by replacing Quora Towershead with a powerful neutral unit that deals a significant amount of damage to the enemy team.
Little League
This ruleset only allows monsters that has a mana cost of 4 or lower to become available in the match. It makes Quora Towershead also not usable for this type of the match if this ruleset is present as only Venari Marksrat and Fungus Flinger the ones available as those units have a mana cost of 3. This ruleset makes the card combination unable to use and brings a different challenge to choose an alternative unit that can bring a good amount of damage to the enemy team and become the main damage dealer for the team that can secure the victory.
Rise of the Commons
This ruleset only allows monsters that are either common and rare to become usable in the match. It makes epic units such as Quora Towershead and legendary units to be unavailable for the battle if this ruleset is present. It is also causes the card combination to become not usable to deploy and just like the Little League ruleset, as it also brings a different challenge to choose a common or rare unit that can take the place of Quora Towershead. There are a lot of great rare and common units in the game that can be an good alternative option to select from.
My Battle
This is the modern ranked battle that I want to share where I was able to showcase the effectivity and mayhem that the Quora Towershead deadly combination can bring to the battlefield. I placed my Fungus Flinger in the first position of the team to absorb the initial damage coming from the enemy team. Once it was taken down by the enemy team, the Martyr ability would trigger and it brings an overall buff to the next unit which is Quora Towershead. This buff coming from the Martyr ability brings a boost to the Quora Towershead to take down enemy monsters more faster and triggers the Bloodlust ability as well. The full effect of this card combination can be seen at the later part of the match when the Quora Towershead was able to take down a few units which makes that unit more powerful and unstoppable which would secure the victory for the team.
