Hello everyone and welcome to my game of this week's Splinterlands weekly battle challenge !

Here is the link to the game if you prefer to just watch it by yourself.

The spotlight of today's game is the Desert Dragon which in my opinion is a very underrated card which I also don't use that often but I try to use it when the opportunity arises like in this game.

The ruleset of the game is as follows:

ruleset.png

28 mana cap, weak magic and odd ones out, only water and dragon splinters open.
As dragon is my favorite splinter I immediately jumped on grabbing that.

As a summoner I choose my favorite Quix the Devious, which I got a level 2 of so he allows me to play level 2 legendary monsters.

Because odd ones out rules out my go to tank in the dragon splinter, which is Djin Chwalla I went with the desert dragon as a main tank, I have him at level 2 for that all so important pierce, I think he is not really good at level 1, but getting that totally changes the game for him

In the second spot I threw in the Creeping Ooze for the slow and a 1 shot soak in case the dragon goes down, I got just the one BCX for the slow

Next up as a backup in case the opponent goes with a heavy magic play and kills off the desert dragon too quickly I went with Void Dragon. I got him level 1 for now but I plan to go for level 3 when I get the summoner to play it. He is an excellent magic tank in the dragon roster.

Next up, because I went with the water splinter to compliment my dragons I throw in the Axe Master, an amazing damage dealer which I use all the time when possible. I got him only at level 1

Next we have the Pelacor Bandit, a very cheap and amazing sneak monster, got him at level 5, for the extra damage and life, overall an amazing card.

And in the back line I throw in the Chaos Agent as a sneak play defender, because with the 3 speed and the dodge he can block quite a few attacks if I get lucky. Got him level 4 for that extra speed.

On to the game itself:

Round 1

R1.png

Our opponent went with Kelya as a summoner and not a heavy magic play so we feel comfortable with our tank that it will not be destroyed on the first round. I get lucky to not get any misses on the Serpent of Eld and he goes down on round 1, from which point it is all but over for the opponent. The Desert Dragon gets the killing blow so because of the trample and that pierce which is very pivotal in this game versus Kelya, he also kills the Hardy Stonefish with a single blow.

Round 2

In this round the Desert Dragon gets another killing blow on the Goblin Chariot and gets to stampede and 1 shot the Scavo Hireling afterwards.divider-dragon.png

Round 3

This wraps up the game, here is the result:

In conclusion I think the desert dragon is very useful especially when he is at level 2 with the pierce and you suspect that you are going versus a lot of small monsters and some armor buff, like here was the case with the 1 armor from Kelya. He can make quick work of a lot of monsters with the trample. His obvious weakness is a magic play and he might die before he even gets a chance to attack so you really have to bi picky when to play him, but in this ruleset he turned out to be the perfect pick.

I hope that you enjoyed the game that I presented to you and if you don't already, maybe its time to pick up the desert dragon for your roster and try him out.
