I've been playing Splinterlands since August 2021 but it's only this April that I've started playing in tournaments (and also first time posting in here).
The reason behind that is because I was intimidated. Prior to Chaos Legion release, I am just renting cards to finish my daily quest and play rank until I can recoup the rental cost and earn some decent DEC.
Yes I can rent to compete but I am not even doing good in my Ranked battles, what more in a tourney?
When CL came out, I bought enough packs to build Gold League max CL deck and enough to secure 6 copies of the 6 upcoming legendary summoners via Airdrop.
(bought this on an Alt account to Maximize the 5% affiliate earnings)
Going back to the tourney topic, one day, I've revisited the Events page in the site and saw Modern and Chaos Legion Only tourney, most with "Money Back" guarantee (where 128-256 players will get their entry fee back) and the participants are just less than that! nothing to lose right? so I've entered in one and finished 103rd place, then I've entered in another one where I ended 6th place and 9x my SPS (entry fee was 3SPS only)
This got me stoked and now I can't get enough!
Glad I have enough SPS staked to enter in all of the Modern and CL Only Tourneys!
