The Challenge
I'm participating in Splinterland's Social Media Challenge to share Chaos Legion cards I find outstanding in the Silver league.
Chilling in Silver
After a few seasons in Gold league, I've decided to stay in Silver league. Gold league gives me more DEC per win and quest chest rewards, but, taking into account the rental costs, it was not profitable for me. I am thinking the adage 'it's not how much you earn, it's how much you save' applies in Silver, but I am yet to confirm this.
Now, each league has its own meta as abilities and stats vary per card level. This had me pondering what Chaos Legion cards I'll purchase if and when I decide to invest a significant amount of money that will be competitive in Silver, the league I find exciting.
Summoner Limits
The summoner limits in Silver are:
- Common: 5
- Rare: 4
- Epic: 3
- Legendary: 2
There are no Common and Epic summoners, however, in the Chaos Legion set so we'll consider the Rare ones and the sole Legendary summoner (as of writing, wink!). This means I can deploy Common monster at max level 5, Rare monsters at max level 4, Epic monsters at max level 3, and Legendary monsters at max level 2.

Scavo Chemist and Forgotten One are extremely useful in the Noxious Fumes ruleset, while the rest are both tanky and hard-hitters, in perfect sync with Tarsa's buffs.
Cost: $156.255, including a Level 4 Tarsa
Handpicks: Water Splinter

The first fours cards are a deadly combo. With their damage and speed boost from Kelya Frendul, they can definitely demolish your enemy's deck. Wave Brood and Angelic Mandarin is another pair that can be deployed to maximize the said deadly combo, particularly for high mana battles. We have tanky monsters here, so Merdaali Guardian can utilize its Tank Heal and River Nymph its Cleanse.
Cost: $194.06, including a Level 4 Kelya Frendul
Handpicks: Earth Splinter

Hill Giant is a decent tank for 3 mana; it can be used as your main tank or a meat shield for sneak attacks. Venari Knifer, Mycelic Infantry, and Grund are critical in Melee-only battles and even in Earthquake ruleset where they can absorb and deal damage at the same time. The last three cards work perfectly with Obsidian, given its +1 Magic damage. In Melee Mayhem, Mycelic Slipspawn, Goblin Psychic, and Grund are a dangerous combination.
Cost: $165.21, including a Level 4 Obsidian
Handpicks: Life Splinter

Chaos Knight is an acceptable tank in low mana matches and can be pretty handy when facing monsters costing 10+ mana. Adelade Brightwing and Celestial Harpy are staple in Earthquake ruleset, while Celestial Harpy and Stitch Leech are a threat when reinforced with Inspire. Time Mage works well with brutal Ranged monsters amplified by General Sloan's buff, Pelacor Arbalest and Prismologist.
Cost:$129.06, including a Level 4 General Sloan
Handpicks: Death Splinter

Cursed Windeku, Shadow Snitch, and Silent Sha-vi are my essential Melee monsters in Death, usually either with Soul Strangler or Dhampir Stalker for Ranged damage. Djinn Muirat, with Thaddius Brood's debuff, is a tough tank against Magic monsters while Life Sapper is particularly useful in low mana matches, with Riftwing as its main tank.
Cost: $140.88, including a Level 4 Thaddius Brood
Handpicks: Dragon Splinter

Chaos Dragon's magic damage, perfected by Blast and Scattershot, is one of the most overpowered cards in Chaos Legion. Void Dragon, on the other hand, has an impressive speed and can be a agile tank as it has Flying, too.
Cost: $44.96, excluding Quix the Devious
Handpicks: Neutral Splinter

Venari Monk's Heal is a strong point in low mana matches with Noxious Fumes while Disintegrator is a staple in Up Close and Personal ruleset. Supply Runner's Swiftness is useful specially in Blast ruleset or in mirror matches while Venari Spellsmith's Amplify hurts when taken advantage of. Magic of Chaos is a great addition, having great damage and decent health, if one decides to use an all-magic deck.
Cost: $48.48
Handpick: Special Mention
Doctor Blight is an expensive card, and I'd rather buy cheaper cards that can boost my favorite Splinters. It's worth mentioning, however, that it is an incredibly useful card with its Affliction, counter against Heal and Tank Heal, and Poison abilities. Most importantly, Camouflage ensures he doesn't get eliminated early!
Cost: $318
Takeaway
I'm new to deck building as Splinterlands is my first CCG. By identifying the cards I play often and those that can be used in a combo, I know which cards I wish to buy as soon as I have the funds or when I'm hunting for deals.

A lot of work went into this post and you only used two tags;
Take a look at some of the tags I use on my posts for ideas if you want.
I would recommend you always use 10 tags.
Some good ones that can earn you a few cents in HE coins here and there:
#oneup #battle #neoxian #proofofbrain #vyb #bpc
There are others too.
Good work. Get more out of it next time!
Thank you mate for the tip and the praise! :) Will keep that in mind in my next post
