For this challenge I'm going to talk about the Merdaali Guardian card and how cards like it are incredibly useful in battles. Even though it doesn't have an attack, it has an ability that is one of the most useful for a support in Splinterlands, which is Tank Heal and makes it heal the allied card positioned in the first position, if you've played other card or rpg games you know as healing abilities are very efficient and make a big difference in battles and I will show this in practice.
Explaining more about the Tank Heal ability it heals the allied card positioned in the first position in 1/3 of its life and the minimum value of the healing is 2 and having this minimum value is a very positive point because not all cards have enough health.
But the Merdaali Guardian card can't win all the battles by itself so I'll show you the cards you choose to join it in the battle.
The first card is the Summoner that was Kelya Frendul and she is very useful because it grants +1 shield and +1 speed to all your cards on the field.
The second card is the Tank that is positioned in the first position and the main defense in this battle, the card is the Serpent of Eld that has the Dodge ability that makes it increase the chances of dodging melee and ranged attacks, so it is a great combination with the Merdaali Guardian as he has a good chance of not taking too much damage and when he takes the Merdaali Guardian he will recover his health.
The third card is Ice Pixie which is a card with magic attack that has the ability Flying which makes it more likely to dodge melee and ranged attacks from cards that don't have this ability.
The fourth card is the Merdaali Guardian that has no attack and its main function will be its Tank Heal ability to heal the card positioned in the first position.
The fifth card is the Scavo Hireling which will also be very useful in battle, like Merdaali Guardian it has no attack but it has a very useful ability which is Repair which makes it restore the shield of the card that has suffered the most damage.
The sixth card is the Deeplurker which is a melee card that has the Opportunity ability that makes him attack the lowest health card.
BATTLE LINK
In the battle my opponent chose a summoner that reduces the magic attack and life of my cards, as Ice Pixie is the only card with magic attack that I have on the field and its ATK is 1 and it can't get lower than that so the summoner it loses one of its utilities, but it still reduces the health of my cards by 1 and that can be very problematic.
In the first round the shield that summoner Kelya Frendul grants my cards is quite useful and prevents them from taking a lot of damage at the beginning, increasing the speed of the cards by 1 also helps a lot and during this round both sides lose a card.
In the second round my Serpent of Eld was almost defeated and if that happened it would probably be the end of my chance of victory, but thanks to Merdaali Guardian and Scavo Hireling he recovers quickly and my opponent's main defense which was his Cursed Windeku was defeated and it makes the battle easier because its Thorns ability that deals 2 damage when a melee card attacks it was very problematic.
In the third round my Deeplurker is defeated and it greatly reduces my damage done during the battle but my Serpent of Eld has a lot of damage and with the help of Merdaali Guardian and Scavo Hireling as support winning the battle is not impossible.
In the fourth round I relied only on the Serpent of Eld to deal damage and my opponent's Silent Sha-Vi card is the biggest problem because now it is targeting my support cards so defeating the card in front of it and putting it in first position will guarantee me victory as she won't be able to do more damage.
In the fifth round I finally managed to put Silent Sha-Vi in the first position and as it is a melee card and I have 1 support card that heals and another that repairs the shield so there is no way for him to defeat me anymore.
In the sixth round the attacks continue.
In the seventh round the Silent Sha-Vi is finally defeated and the battle comes to an end.
In this battle we can see that the Merdaali Guardian card, even without having any attacks, is incredibly useful and without it on the field I would probably have lost, but I also can't give it all the credit because the Scavo Hireling was also very useful preventing the Serpent of Eld takes more damage from melee and ranged cards before Merdaali Guardian heals him. Splinterlands is a strategy game and I find this one quite powerful, so be sure to use Merdaali Guardian in your water deck battles.
