Another Remarkable Story - The Best Season So Far In The Splinterlands

in #splinterlands13 days ago

Splinterlands shines as a groundbreaking force in the blockchain gaming world, and I love it because it’s blending strategy and the powerful perks of decentralization. It’s not just another play2earn game… it’s a world where players can truly own their assets on the blockchain.

The real magic happens within the Hive blockchain, making it accessible to players at any level. The Splinterlands community is a goldmine of seasoned players and crypto experts, offering insights and strategies that can take your game to the next level.

There’s no shortage of opportunities to learn and level up through the Social Media Challenge, and the weekly articles are packed with tips and tricks from the best in the game. As for me, I’ve been grinding in this universe for four solid years! Still not a pro, but still a dude that seen the full spectrum of growth and challenge.

The learning curve was steep, but as the years passed, I found my rhythm in this wild world. The journey has been a thrilling rollercoaster. I had good seasons, and bad season... but the last one was THE BEST SEASON SO FAR!

There are good news at the end of this season, as Splinterlands took the second place in the "Best Card Game" category for the Play2Earn Game Awards for 2024! Fully deserved award!

As a thank you to the community for helping them achieve this recognition, the team have temporarily increased GLINT earnings for both Wild and Modern formats, with GLINT rewards up by 1.5x for the rest of the season.

Why is this remarkable? I was earning between 18 and 20k Glint per season, and now I already generated double the amount. The 1.5x boost brought an important contribution, but also a better performance in battles made me earn more!

My highest League Tier acheived was GOLD II, and the end of season reached 34,934 Glint! I told you this was the best season so far... and I wasn't pumping the story at all! The numbers are talking!

The rewards I claimed at the end of the season were seamlessly added to everything I had earned throughout the same season, creating an exhilarating moment of realization. Seeing my total Glint balance surge, I felt like a rich kid in Splinterlands, ready to dive into the marketplace with 63,000 Glint at my disposal.

With such a massive stockpile, I had endless possibilities—acquiring powerful new cards, stacking up on reward chests, and strengthening my deck for future battles. The feeling of unlocking so many in-game treasures at once was like opening a vault of hidden riches, a testament to all the victories and grinding throughout the season.

Now, the real question was... how should I spend it? Should I go all-in on legendary cards to dominate the battlefield? Or perhaps invest in packs and chests, hoping for rare and valuable pulls? A balanced approach or a degen gamble?

One thing was certain... this season's rewards had set me up for an epic journey ahead in Splinterlands, and I was more than ready to make the most of it! The remarkable was yet to come! I went for a balanced strategy and mixed rewards!

I claimed one legendary drop, two epic ones and three rare cards along the way! Seargent Grauzral joined my ranks, along the Kha'zi Conjurer and the Night Reaper. The Dark Arborist and Janni Rebel were good drops as well, used to upgrade my current holdings.

The rest of the Glint was spent on the most cheapest chests, and the gods of random were summoned once again! It was all worth it, as the Archne Weaver epic card alone would have been x Glint!

I've unwrapped a bag of potions, merits, common cards and one energy... but the value of the drop was pumped up by two more rare cards. This time my strategy paid off... and I recover a bit of the losses from previous seasons!

The Arachne Weaver is one of the best cards I've sean lately, with the Corrupted Healing ability that can tip the balance of a battle as easly as you can snap a twig! This monster spider will defy the odds, as his "corruption" will heal the tank better than a pure heal but will reduce his health by each round.

For this one, I decided to embrace the two battle rules, Fog of War and Up To Eleven, focusing on a tank that will break the balance! The Cursed Winedku damage done by Thornes to all those that attacked him was amplified, and the Arachne Weaver had a clear job... keep him alive!

Thaddius Brood: -1 Health & +1 Spell Damage to enemies

Cursed Windeku: Melee with Thornes

Arachne Weaver: Caster with Corrupted Healing

Corpse Fiend: Melee Legendary

General Sloane had only one unit to boost, as the others were not ranged cards. Not the best strategy in my opinion, but who am I to judge? My opponent went for six cheap units, while my focus for for quality not quantity.

The Albahoo Forester survived longer than expected, supported with healing from the Venari Crystalsmith, while the Weaver was healing the Windeku. The issue with Corrupted Healing is that each time a unit is healed with 70% of it's max health, the same stat is reduced by one.

Long battles will make the target's health drop so much that the heal will be inefficient. Two enemies down, and the Windeku max health was now down to eight after two rounds!

Vilguine has become the new "issue", as the beast's Scavenger ability raised it's health to a decent level. Then adding the heal from the Crystalsmith... and this unit suddenly becomes a proper tank!

Fortunately for me, the Thornes took Vilguine down in a sensible moment! My tank was at it's lowest point in the battle, with only two health left, but the Corrupted Healing took him to good standards!

Poetical justice, as the healer lived to see them fall! He failed to keep them alive, and watched the corruption being more efficient than his holy light! The Windeku's max health was reduced to six, but the strategy secured the win! See the full battle here!
