Splinterlands is one of the OG games in the Cryptoverse! Why I've got hooked up in 2020 and still playing? Because the game is seamlessly blending strategy, entertainment, and the power of decentralization. Its innovative blockchain integration, accessibility, and unique gameplay set it apart in the play-to-earn space.
As a cutting-edge P2E experience, Splinterlands gives players true ownership of their in-game assets, enabling secure and transparent trading. With deep strategy card mechanics and a dynamic battle system, every match is a test of skill and tactics. Do you have what it takes to reach glory on the battlefield?
The Hall of Legends collection—featuring exclusive cards honoring key figures of the rebellion—is now available only on the secondary market. Do you own a piece of history? Have you added these iconic heroes to your deck? I am just a casual player so I could only afford the cheaper cards!
You won't find these promo cards in packs, airdrops, or future sales. They've been made only be sold in the Hall of Legends...and now they're gone for ever! I finished 659 in the leaderboard, and there was no extra rewards for me, but I had fun!
I've already tested the strengths and weaknesses of two cards, opposing the Night Stalker’s brute force to the Warborn Shaman’s mystical abilities and strategic potential. Today we move to another dynamic duo from the Hall of Legends and we will see who's better between the Sanctus Vicar and the Rune Arcanist!
Do you know the answer? I think that the Sanctus Vicar excels as a support-tank hybrid, offering healing and protective abilities that make it invaluable for sustain-heavy strategies. It keeps your team alive while absorbing damage, making it a strong choice for defensive or control-oriented decks.
On the other hand, Rune Arcanist is a high-damage magic user, specializing in burst potential and spell synergy. It thrives in aggressive or combo-based decks, overwhelming opponents with powerful offensive abilities despite its relative fragility. It's random!
If you prefer a methodical, endurance-based playstyle, Sanctus Vicar is the better choice. If you favor high-impact, aggressive magic plays, Rune Arcanist delivers more raw power. The best pick depends on your strategy and deck composition.
Sanctus Vicar Logan Rockford, high priest of the Church of Gryyja, Goddess of Protection, joined the people of Feranon when they rose against the Chaos Empire. Without him, the uprising would have failed before it began.
Playing the Sanctus Vicar is neither cheap or expensive, as the six mana cost is fair for the stats he brings in combat! He has 2 ranged attack, a bit of armor, good health and can cleanse the unit at the back! This could be very useful in Noxious Fumes battles!
Is there a perfect tactic to play a battle with no special rules and only 19 mana? I wanted to play the Sanctus Vicar, and also fancy gladiator cards. The solution was to play Eternan Brune and Orella Abadon! Game on!
Eternan Brune: -2 Armor & +1 Gladiator
Antoid Platoon: Melee with Shield
Radiated Scorcher: Melee with Shatter
Orella Abadon: Melee with Sneak and Bloodlust
Sanctus Vicar: Ranged with Cleanse
Scorching Fiend: Melee Decoy
I faced a team that reduced my health and magical damage, and my opponent tried to make the battle last longer with the extra armor from the Ravenhood Warden.
Unfortunately for them, the armor was reduced by my summoner! This made Orella instantly have her first kill and bloodlust!
The Cursed Windeku will play a big role, as this is the enemy that can deal more damage with the Thornes. This mast fall fast!
Orella delivered another deadly strike, and the Life Sapper couldn't sap enough life to survive! Another bloodlust and the focus moves on the Cursed Windeku, as his Thornes brought the Antoid Platoon demise!
The Carrion Shade was Orella's next victim! Another kill... another bloodlust... and she went into God Mode! Soon she had to face the Cursed Windeku in a duel that will change the tides of the battle!
The Windeku eliminated the Radiated Scorcher and was getting ready for Orella. The Sanctus Vicar delivered a perfect hit, then Orella delivered the killing blow! Thornes damgage then bloodlust! See the full battle here!
The sorceress is renowned for her mastery of runic magic and command of the elements of earth and water. She accompanied the battle mage in their journey to Rage’s lair, and used her magic to protect her allies from the ancient wyrm’s magic!
He had a pivotal role! If it was not for her, the rebellion would have ended in the dragon's cave! Welcome to my army Eryndoril! Because she has experience with dragons... I paired her with a legendary one!
Nidhoggr: Force Reduction, -1 Health & -1 Armor
Night Reaper: Caster with Flying and Wingbreaker
Rune Arcanist: Caster with Weaken
Daygendark Surveyor: Support with Magic Reflect
Daarg Deadblast: Caster with Swiftness and Weapons Training
Redwyrm Hatchling: Ranged with Dodge and True Strike
Nidhoggr was going to boss this battle, boosting his army and reducing the strength of the enemies! Draag gave spell power to the little surveyor, and speed to everyone else.
The Anasth Soothsayer was bombarded with spells, and Janni Rebel was receiving blast damage as well. My army was pushing for a quick win, while the Meriput Magician was trying to keep my enemies alive!
The tiny healer failed, as the Soothsayer demise came quickly. Janni was next and soon Captain Katie had to take the lead. She managed to take down the Night Reaper and taste Bloodlust, but she wasn't strong enough for what was yet to come!
Katie was weaken, and the Rune Arcanist delivered the deadly blow! We banished the demon with swiftness, and was time to get rid of the naughty Meriput Magician.
The little guy gave a fair fight, healing himself and eliminating the Rune Arcanist from the battle. He survived more than expected, casting spells and heals! However, it was impossible for him to maintain at high health, and soon had to accept a tragic fate. Was game over in seven rounds! See the full battle here!
