As for me, I’ve been grinding in this universe for four solid years! Still not a pro, but still a dude that seen the full spectrum of growth and challenge.
The learning curve was steep, but as the years passed, I found my rhythm in this wild world. The journey has been a thrilling rollercoaster
I've seen the huge impact of the Rebellion set, with new cards that shifted the old dynamics and strategies. Splinterlands keeps shifting, and there's always something new!
Now that the Rebellion packs are sold out, the cards from the set are only available on the market. You know I'm not a Hive whale, so all I've been able to buy were 38 packs.
The story for the Rebellion cards was pretty much the same as with previous sets—most of the ones I got were unwrapped from the packs I bought. It felt like hitting the jackpot when I cracked open those packs, but most of them didn’t have the specific cards I was looking for. However, as I dove deeper into the game, I realized I needed to buy a few more packs to upgrade my units, especially the ones I’m using most often. For example, the summoners are a big part of my strategy, and the fire splinter has been a go-to for me, so I needed to boost those cards up to get an edge in the matches.
Fast forward to today, and I’m now holding 78 Rebellion cards, and the best part is that most of them are above level one, giving me a solid foundation to build my deck for future battles. Some of these cards have really helped level up my strategy, and I’ve been able to fine-tune my approach with stronger units that synergize well together.
But I’m always looking to improve, so I’m curious—what’s your strategy for upgrading cards? Do you focus on certain splinters, or are you more about maximizing rarities to unlock their full potential? For me, finding the right balance between unit types and rarity combinations has been key to creating a deck that holds up under pressure. But I’m sure there are other efficient ways to combine units for maximum impact, especially when you’re trying to maximize your rewards in ranked battles or tournaments.
How do you approach upgrading your cards and building your deck to stay ahead of the competition? Would love to hear your tips and insights on optimizing the Rebellion cards or any other strategies you've been using to level up your game.
When it comes to my approach, I’m not really focusing on upgrading the reward cards—at least not right now. I am happy with my units at level two or three, considering the low level of most of my summoners. However, I focus on having more high-rarity cards!
Instead, I’m all about being strategic with my GLINT and spending it wisely to maximize value in the long run. It's about applying a smart, calculated strategy rather than just mindlessly upgrading everything. I make sure to invest in rare drops, epic drops, and sometimes I splurge on chests to mix things up with a little random element. I’ve found that adding some of that spontaneity to the process can often yield surprising results—sometimes it’s those random pulls that can unlock some serious potential.
Speaking of which, during my last spending spree, I ended up getting Night Reaper and Halfling Refugee—twice! Talk about a solid haul. Those two units have really helped boost my deck. In particular, the 1-mana Halfling Refugee is turning out to be a top-tier tank. It may have low mana, but its tanking ability is incredibly effective in the right lineup, offering strong survivability and protection for my other key units. I've been able to use it as a solid front-liner in many battles, making it easier to control the board while conserving my mana for bigger plays later on.
That’s the beauty of focusing on a well-rounded strategy. While upgrading every card can be tempting, focusing on specific, high-value drops and acquiring the right tanks and support units can often give you a more reliable edge, especially when you have a mix of rare and epic cards that fit well together. It’s all about synergy, and with the right combo of cards, I’m finding that I can tackle a variety of matchups effectively.
Do you find yourself going for specific card types or strategies, or do you prefer to experiment and see where the cards take you? I’d love to hear your thoughts on how you’re balancing strategic buys and random drops to optimize your deck.
There are good news at the end of this season, as Splinterlands took the second place in the "Best Card Game" category for the Play2Earn Game Awards for 2024! Fully deserved award!
As a thank you to the community for helping them achieve this recognition, the team have temporarily increased GLINT earnings for both Wild and Modern formats, with GLINT rewards up by 1.5x for the rest of the season.
Why is this remarkable? I was earning between 18 and 20k Glint per season, and now I already generated 22,000 with 5 days to go! I would hoped for more but I keep losing all my battles!
Looking forward to spending big bags of Glint, and maybe will get a legendary draw as a New Year treat! Or maybe not... too expensive! I will decide on the spot, when I will have probably 50k Glint to spend on cards! VONAK!
