Grund is great attacker, but unfortunately can't stand alone, need backup from taunt monster. The moment he can stand alone i think only when using Llama with last stand and battle with Llama-Kron Combo.
I love Grund, especially at Level 4 (Diamond) when he gets trample - he can really decimate the enemy if you take some of the attack off of him with Slipspawn.

yah and he will also be good on melee mayhem or opportunity rule set with that double strike
