Splinterlands is excited to announce a promotion with the Ultra Rare Collectibles Project!
Ultra Rare will be releasing a special "Horrors of the Splinterlands" set of 6 collectible cards representing "horror" versions of existing Splinterlands characters! Splinterlands players can grab one set of "Horrors of the Splinterlands" cards (6 NFTs in total) for every 50 Untamed booster packs purchased (using Credits or DEC) between Saturday, March 13th at 1:00 PM EST / 18:00 UTC and Saturday, March 20th, 2021 at 2:00 PM EST / 18:00 UTC - or until supplies run out!
Please note that, unlike previous promotions, there are only 250 Horrors of the Splinterlands sets available, so once those run out it will no longer be possible to get these NFTs through the Splinterlands promotion.
Players are required to have a valid WAX blockchain wallet address linked to their Splinterlands account in order to be eligible to receive the Horrors of the Splinterlands NFT set with eligible purchases. To link a WAX wallet address, players can click on their account name on the top right of the Splinterlands desktop website and choose the "Link External Wallet" menu option.
Any players who do not have a WAX blockchain wallet can create one quickly and easily for free at https://all-access.wax.io/.
Additional details about the promotion are as follows:
- NFTs will be sent to the linked WAX wallet address for players who have purchased 50 or more Untamed booster packs during the promotion period and before supplies have run out.
- NFTs will be sent once Splinterlands receives them from the Ultra Rare team. This may take up to 30 days after the promotion ends, so please be patient.
- The promotion will look at the total packs purchased during the period, so multiple smaller purchases that total 50 or more packs before supplies run out will be eligible to receive one NFT set for every 50 packs purchased.
- Bonus packs received when purchasing 100 or more Untamed packs in a single purchase will not count toward the total packs eligible for the promotion.
Get Packs at a Discount Using DEC!
We want to remind everyone that Untamed booster packs can always be purchased using Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) tokens at a rate of 1000 DEC = $1 USD, regardless of the rate at which they are trading on external markets.
This may provide an opportunity for savvy cryptocurrency traders to pick up DEC tokens on external markets and use them to purchase Untamed booster packs and earn free Horrors of the Splinterlands sets at a significant discount to the base retail price!

The 100 sets on ultrarare.com at $30 each were gone in under a minute. Then our 250 vanished in around 90 mins.

Yes I did get in, but I also was at Dygycon and heard about it. Fyi, it was introduced at the Dygycon conference and was a Dygycon promotional event. They did say in their Dygycon press release they would have promotions, even though we had no idea what they were. Here's a picture of the 100 sets that Ultra Horror put out on their side (and both were release at 1pm). Notice it is a "Dygycon 2021" promotion.
As for instant profit, I'm not flipping mine. But I did think it is a very cool partnership and I hope they do many more of these in the future.
Yeah. And how many copies did the Splinterlands team grab? What a boondoggle. Don't even announce the sale time until it has already started -- and they sell out in less than two hours. Even less fair than the BS land raffle.
