I have a feeling that the lack of competition that you feel in Champ will begin to disappear as the new rating system comes into play. The majority of the big Champ LB players will not risk playing on the last day, heck even last 2 days, for fear of losing 70 rating points to a much lower rated but equally skilled and well-equipped Diamond player.
Enter in the new rating system. Whole new world.
Either way, I understand your frustration with the Silver competition disappearing. It's a shame to hear that these largely positive changes to the game and ranked system have affected you as they have.

It's very difficult to create an environment where everyone can enjoy themselves.
A world where no one is sacrificed is ideal, but it's not realistic.
