Introduction
Hello everyone! Welcome to my Weekly Battle Challenge! This time I'm participating in a new type of challenge - focused on a particular rule instead of the card. This type of challenge will surely bring more strategy variety, but I find it a bit annoying since the required ruleset could take some time to find and win a battle with it.
Ruleset for this week's challenge is: Aimless
Aimless ruleset gives Scattershot ability to every ranged and magic attacking creature. Those attacks hit even camouflaged monsters with the recent update. Creatures that benefit the most from this ruleset are creatures with blast ability, and melee attacking creatures since reach, sneak and opportunity still attack their original targets thus removing the unpredictability from Scattershot.
Featured battle allowed a total of 20 mana to be spent, and the open elements were Fire, Water, Earth, and Life. Ruleset combination was completed with Odd ones out and Magic monsters only rules. My strongest options in this particular ruleset combination were Grandmaster Rathe with Djinn Renova and Adelade Brightwing for a total of 20 mana!
My Team:
Grandmaster Rathe is a defensive Life summoner that provides +1 Armor and Void Armor, quite a strong combination for any defensively oriented team. On top of that he provides Amplify ability which pairs nicely with Thorns, Return Fire and Magic Reflect abilities, and is a good choice in any of those rulesets.
Djinn Renova is a high magic damage supporting creature with Strengthen and Triage abilities. Her main job in this battle was to provide big magic damage and heal Adelade if she were to be attacked.
What needs to be said about Adelade Brightwing? She's such an amazing card in combination with Grandmaster Rathe. Ressurecting frontliner with a Void Armor is strong strategy, and on top of that she even keeps that armor repaired.
Battle Link
Turn 1
Mycelic Slipspawn is down to 5 health, while Void armor negated 1 attack from the opposing team. Both attacks hit my Djinn Renova and Adelade is repairing her armor.
Turn 2
Mycelic Slipspawn was knocked out and Regal Peryton is in a losing position since Adelade will repair armor and negate all of its attacks.
Turn 3
The turn ends with Regal Peryton being at the last health point.
Turn 4
The battle ended with both of my monsters still standing!
Battle Rewards
Conclusion
Void Armor and Armor repair was a deadly combination in this ruleset combination. Djinn Renova could heal backline damage done to Adelade, and Adelade was able to repair Voided armor effectively negating one of the opponent's creatures' attack. Since my opponent used unleveled cards in a gold league wild battle, my team ended up winning easily.
