Introduction
Hello everyone! Today I'm going to show you a battle featuring Void Dragon with a bunch of speed manipulation in the form of Swiftness and Slow abilities!
Allow me to introduce the star of the battle:
This card has pretty good speed which is constant across all levels at 5. On top of that, it has one of the strongest abilities in Void, but what really sets this card up for success is the Phase ability at level 3, which makes it use the great speed stat to avoid even the Magic damage. If you want to save some money, level 3 is a good stopping point. At the maximum level, 2nd point of magic damage comes in handy for the mirror match-ups or against other Void monsters.
Battle Ruleset:
Featured battle allowed every element except Fire and Earth to be used, with a total of 31 mana. Rulesets were: Melee Mayhem, Fury, and Briar Patch.
My team:
Quix the Devious was chosen for the decrease of ranged damage since I was expecting a lot of magic and ranged damage from the opponent given the ruleset. He also brings the point of speed manipulation.
Void Dragon was chosen because it is a great tank that doesn't have a melee attack. Speed stat of 5 in combination with Flying and Phase allows it to evade a lot of attacks from all forms of damage.
Cursed Windeku is able to attack from the second position in this particular battle. Damaged received from Thorns is negated with Heal ability, and it also brings a point of speed manipulation in the form of Slow.
Revealer is one of the cards that I often chose while playing Death. He brings the Stun ability, which is good with a fast team since it allows the stun to happen before the opponent's creature can attack.
Venari Bonesmith is another card I bring in most of my Death decks. A combination of Life Leech and Poison makes this card very interesting. On top of that, Dispel often comes in handy, and it was even buffed to dispel Bloodlust and Martyr buffs.
Supply Runner was chosen instead of Lira the Dark so I could fit the last member of the team in the mana cap. He brings a decent ranged damage to the battle and additional point of speed manipulation in the form of Swiftness.
Naga Assassin is the card I absolutely love! She brings 2 ranged damage for 2 mana, with a good health pool and synergizing abilities in Backfire and Swiftness.
Battle Strategy
My battle strategy was to use Void Dragon with as much speed manipulation as possible in order to avoid most of the attacks from the opponent. In this battle, I included 2 creatures with Swiftness, 1 creature with Slow, and a Summoner with -1 speed, for a total of 4 points of speed manipulation.
Turn 1
Void Dragon stands strong with a total of 7 speed, while the opponent's monsters are at 1 and 2 speed each. In the first round of the battle, it was able to dodge 3 hits.
Turn 2
In this turn, opposing Djinn Muirat and Revealer were defeated, and my Void Dragon dodged all of the attacks from the opposition.
Turn 3
My team was able to attack first and defeat every monster on the other side.
Battle Rewards
Conclusion
My battle strategy worked really well. Void Dragon is a scary creature to face with a lot of speed manipulation. It was able to dodge a total of 7/10 attacks while the rest of my creatures delivered the damage.
