This push started back on 10/4 at the end of my last post, with the sale of my first gold card drop from season reward chests. That sale let me buy my own copy of the Venari Wavesmith. I know it would have been cheaper to just rent the card for 100 days, but it just feels better knowing I will gain value in the long run owning the cards. Looking back I now see that the 200+ DEC I spent to buy it would have put me in silver league faster.
I just used the Venari Wavesmith to get some random wins while trying to do my fire quest during the low mana games. I got my daily quest done and snagged 20 credits.
I had just posted my last progress update and was asked a question about how to get crypto from a faucet into the game. To answer that question: In order to post the guide I had written, my only choice was to sell the DEC I had gained to buy HIVE.

Still Stuck in Bronze 3 and out of DEC once again, I just spammed games with Water and used low mana games for my death quest. That days reward was an Alchemy Potion. This was probably one of the least eventful days I have had in Splinterlands so far. So this was something I had to change. I was sitting at 431 Rating, and couldn't just buy more cards for power. The only logical choice was to start looking at teams to rent.
Also while I was away, I got a friend to start playing. Yay, my first referral. I picked up a Wave Runner with most of the credits, and delegated him some of my low level duplicate cards to use, and gave him a couple DEC to rent a Venari Wavesmith.

Here is what I rented:
It was another easy day thanks to the rentals, and I found myself just shy of Bronze 1 after the daily. That day's reward was a whopping 6 credits, I think I lost $ at the point of finishing the quest since it only took a few games. I had also waited till just a few hours before the next quest would pop up thinking maybe I would get another Water or Earth quest. So I let my Capture Rate recharge holding it about 95% through the few hour wait.
With 12 DEC and a fist full of Credits, I set off to get a Earth Daily Quest done and get out of Bronze 3. Well with an earth quest to do and my water deck with Venari Wavesmith, I was short about 700 power. I found myself at https://peakmonsters.com/rentals looking through the market for cheap power to help with my daily and my main carry deck. I also came home to find that I was in an alliance, The Forgotten Kings! They are a level 1 alliance so the future is bright for helping them build from the start.

More DEC More Rentals!
With 23 DEC and an extra 59 credtis left from getting a friend to play and the daily rewards it's time to put in some work. The next daily quest was a Death quest so I hit up the rental market thinking some bigger cards would help.
Here is what I got:
This plan didn't go so well, but hey, I got some cheap power and finally finished the quest. My rating had taken a hit since I was trying new combos of death cards (most didn't pan out).
With the Daily done, my 25 credit reward, and my loss of rating, I wasn't quite ready to go to bed. So I pushed on to gain Rating Points. Here I found a new strategy, The Venari Wavesmith no tank mage.

By the time I went to bed I was sitting at Bronze 1 just lacking the power to push on, and was down to 70% Capture Rate. Now I had 54 DEC again for the next round of rentals.
This morning with about 54 DEC from last night's run, I picked up some more rentals after the airdrop rewards were handed out to get into Bronze 1.

Carrying my 3 win streak from last night, the first 5 games of the day were also wins making for my longest streak ever of 8 wins in a row. At the time of writing this, of my 12 games today - 10 are wins, and My Rating is 1008! More rentals and I will be in SILVER LEAGUE!!!!
As for the Air Drop Update:

I still don't have enough HIVE Power to put out quality content daily due to my lack of RC, as I get more I will post more often. However, I am enjoying cataloging my gameplay almost from day 1 and will try to put out as much of the best content I can. Conclusion: RENT CARDS and WIN!!! As a new player myself (with very little investment in this great game), I feel the income changes are amazing to push new players up in leagues faster with more DEC at the cost of NFT card rewards from the daily quests. It has been extremely easy to just rent a few more cards every day and climb to silver.
