Hi, my name is Katie, and I work for Splinterlands.
I'm not a dev or an artist or anything, I just help out in the office, and sometimes write posts, and fill in where needed.
Working for Splinterlands
I started here back in early July, which was basically when everything was exploding and success had started splattering across everybody's faces and getting in our eyes. Definitely an exciting moment to come aboard. Everything has remained action-packed since then, as I'm sure you know if you're even tangentially involved with the Splinterlands community, so there's never a dull moment.
Playing Splinterlands
I've known about Splinterlands since last year, but had put off starting to play because I worried that it would be too addicting and would distract me from getting literally anything done. Now, however, I can call it research for my awesome job, and feel zero guilt about playing this really fun game that works on multiple levels and gives out whatever you put into it. It's about as addictive as I had imagined, but I still manage to get a few things done in my life. I'm still WAAAAYYY down at the bottom of the pyramid when it comes to playing skill, but I'm slowly learning and I'm definitely enjoying the journey.
The awesome Splinterlands team
I haven't had the chance to work with everybody here yet, but so far my experience has been fantastic. The Splinterlands team members all really pull out the stops for this game and this community. They're all so passionate. Everybody roots for the game and does their best, and nobody is just phoning it in. On top of that, everyone is very supportive and positive. I came from my last (really great) job with very high expectations of team morale and cooperate environment, and Splinterlands just has not disappointed me at all. I'm excited to continue to work with these wonderful people and I am inspired more than ever to do my best here.
The unbeatable Splinterlands community
I honestly think that the incredible nature of the Splinterlands team is a direct reflection of how solid the Splinterlands community is. Who has ever heard of a group this big (on the internet no less) that is this supportive and positive and dedicated? Everybody has been so happy about the game and supportive of the team working behind the scenes. Some people have shared some really heartwarming stories. There has been so much patience when the recent rapid success bogged us down for a bit. We're all human, and I'm sure there are some sour grapes in our midst, but this is a community to which I am proud to belong, and into which I will happily bring anybody else.
Thanks for being wonderful. Stay awesome.
Cool that you introduced yourself. Would be fun to read a few more behind-the-scenes stories.
That's a great idea! Thanks for suggesting it! ~Katie
Hello Katie, thank you for introducing yourself, it is very nice to meet those who are behind this magnificent and addictive game !.
I have a question for you (I am the Legendary interviewer from Rising Star Game), what is your summoner within Splinterlands and if you were to be one of the cards in the game, what would it be and why?
Answer me when you have free time, it will surely be great to read your answer!
A hug and thanks for your work!

Hi Manclar, thanks for the Pizza! And thanks for stopping by to read my intro. I'm super happy to be here.
If you're asking what summoner is mine / based on me / made by me, the answer is none of them. Or are you asking about my favorite summoner?
As for which card I'd be, I actually do have have one of those. Keep your eyes out for Captain Katie, that one is based on me (though I swear I am a peaceful person in real life). But I haven't played with that card, so I can't yet say if it resembles me in action. As far as which card I've actually played with that I identify with the most... I think that would be the Devine Healer: I am not going to hurt anybody (even when that would be incredibly beneficial) but I'm supportive, and I heal your heart.
I'm so glad you like Splinterlands! This is such a cool game and a really fantastic community. Thanks for reaching out!
Fantastic little bit of insight you've provided and its great to hear how behind the scenes everyone loves what they do. Congratz on the new job it'd must be very exciting to be witnessing this evolution in gaming from the ground floor. Id loved to hear more about it as it grows from your perspective!
Welcome to the Game! It is nice to hear the members of the Core Splinterlands communicating to the community. It makes us feel valued and in good hands. Keep it up.
