Hello Splinternerds
Time for the BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge.
To spice up weakly battle challenge splinterlands came up with idea of BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge. BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge will allows players to showcase their strategic skills through their line up in battle field in variety of battle rulesets.
So theme for this week's BATTLE MAGE SECRETS challenge is Ferocity. Ferocity ruleset means all units have Fury ability. This means any Taunt monster in the filed will take double damage from every hit.
How to Play
Since in Ferocity ruleset effectively gives all monsters on battle field the Fury ability so Taunt ability monsters tends to suffer a lot. Basically this ruleset is about discouraging the use of Taunt ability monsters in the battlefield.
With Ferocity in play one doesn't have to worry about taking out Taunt ability monsters and can use Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity monsters at will.
However there are cases one can use Taunt monsters without worry about Ferocity, i.e. using JACEK & COEURL Combo where chances of COEURL
getting hit are extremally low.
Suited Summoners
All kind of summoners work good with Ferocity ruleset. LILY SHIELDPAW
is best suited as it shields all the monsters in the back rank with camouflage, making front facing monster to act a Taunt monster without perishing from Fury.
MY BATTLE With Furocity Ruleset
This was a 33 mana battle with three battle rules; Ferocity, Counterspell and Noxious Fumes. All splinters were allowed except Fire and Dragon.

MY LINEUP
MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE
Due to Noxious Fumes ruleset I used MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE
to take away healing ability of enemy monsters. With Noxious Fumes most of the people tend to use monsters with Tank Heal ability or use a healer to heal their tank.
HARKLAW
Up front I used HARKLAW
as tank. HARKLAW
with its Immunity and Shield ability is indeed a nice summoner. Also that Demoralize ability is an added advantage especially in Up Close & Personal ruleset. Best part is that it doesn't suffer from Noxious Fumes due to its Immunity.
CORRUPTED PEGASUS
On one down I used CORRUPTED PEGASUS
as a healer to my tank. CORRUPTED PEGASUS
with its abilities like Flying, Reach, and Strengthen makes for a perfect one down healer.
CURSED WINDEKU
Next, I placed a tank with tank heal ability CURSED WINDEKU
. CURSED WINDEKU
not only heals and survives Noxious Fumes but also acts as a Sneak defender due to its Thorns ability.
HALFLING ALCHEMIST
Next is used low mana epic HALFLING ALCHEMIST
. The purpose of HALFLING ALCHEMIST
was to apply Halving to enemy tank and trigger Redemption upon its death by Noxious Fumes.
FURIOUS CHICKEN
On the second last position, I used zero mana monster FURIOUS CHICKEN
. The purpose was to fill up the extra slot and serve as a sneak attack defender(eating away enemy Sneak attacks).
DOCTOR BLIGHT
On the last position, I used DOCTOR BLIGHT
as a Camouflage option. Although Reflection Shield was in play but I was confident that DOCTOR BLIGHT
will survive by feeding on all the deaths on battlefield from Noxiousfumes.
BATTLE ANALYSIS
The battle went as planned. Using MIMOSA
served the purpose pretty well depriving enemy tank from healing. Also WINDEKU
served its purpose of Sneak defender pretty well. Most of the enemy monsters in back fell prey to Noxiousfumes.
That will be all for today.
What do you think about the Ferocity ruleset and the battle?
