Card Spotlight #16: Goblin Fireballer
╘═══════════════╡°•✧•°╞═══════════════╛
The card we will be discussing today is Goblin Fireballer.
The Goblin Fireballers of the Smoldering Forest have learned to make powerful flame weapons from the sap of the Everburning Trees that grow there. They launch fireballs with slings or catapults, or by simply rolling them down a hill.
We would rate this card based on:

Rental/Buy Cost ||
Below is the rental of the card at the time of this writing.
Goblin Fireballer's rent is on the minimal. He's free to use, common rarity and low stats. All combined allows the card to be really affordable both for rental and purchase.
Below is the buy cost of the card at the time of this writing.
No one uses Goblin Fireballer a lot. This is shown with his low cost and low usage. I do agree. However, he has his charms and it also depends on how you use him.
Card Stats ||
Goblin Fireballer's stats is on the low side. The level ups don't help as well until level 8 when he gains another point of damage. Even so, no one can deny that his low mana is a big advantage as you can use more or powerful creatures in addition to him.
Card Effect ||
Snare | When attacking enemies with Flying, removes the Flying ability and cannot miss.
Stun | When a Monster with Stun hits a target, it has a 50% chance to stun the target causing it to skip its next turn.
Card Effect ||
| Snare is not a good ability because you require for the creature to hit before it activates. If the monster cannot attack the flying monster, because he doesn't have the ability to attack anyone except the first one, he ability becomes limited and not good.
| Stun is a good ability if it's assured or at least higher than 80%. The problem with this ability is it's chance. Most of the monsters in Splinterlands only attack once per turn. And if you have an ability that only has a "chance" to activate per attack, then it's not as reliable as other skills.
Strengths Weaknesses ||
|| Goblin Fireballer's strength is his low mana alongside with his ability to attack when not in first position. Other than that, there's no other reason to use him in the battlefield.Strengths Weaknesses ||
|| His weakness is everything else. He has no abilities, low damage and health. Why do we use him? As a filler. It's better to have someone rather than none.
Positioning ||
Positioning ||
This would be a two versus two match. The only problem is that my opponent's set up is geared towards mages and I didn't use any mage in this game. I used Living Lava and Goblin Fireballer against my opponent's Unicorn Mustang and Failed Summoner.
ROUND 1:
By end of Round 1, the damage is huge for my opponent and minimal to mine. There's a huge difference in damage output and ability. That's why I was ahead in this game.
ROUND 2:
By end of Round 2, the table flipped. I'm now in the verge of losing. There's a gap in speed between the two tanks making my Living Lava miss.
ROUND 3:
Fortunately, by end of Round 3, my monsters did not miss and I was able to take out Unicorn Mustang. The sad thing is in another turn, my Living Lava would die from Mylor Crowling's thorn damage amd I'm in a pickle when that happen.
ROUND 4:
Game ended at end of Round 4 with a simultaneous death from Living Lava's attack and Mylor Crowling's Thorns.
Compatibility ||
Compatibility ||
This card is compatible with any team. He acts as a filler or a monster you add to complete your team. You don't pick Goblin Fireballer for any special circumstance. He's just there when you need him. Plain and simple.

Final Thoughts
With all the evidences that we gathered, we could say that Goblin Fireballer is an efficient filler card. He's used as an add on to any team and these fillers, based on the replay, can win games. This is the same reason why Furious Chicken is used and those who use it has higher win rates.
All in all, I would give it...
