How are you guys? Did you start using new riftwatchers cards recently?
Today, I want to share battles from top champion players where they use Fernheart successfully.
I was not sure when I should use Fernheart at all, so I decided to look for other people's battles.
Let's get into it!
Back to Basics
22 mana, earth only
https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_6ac4f0c1918c7ba9dfeded9d7fc9be89
I found this match very interesting because I'm confident that a lot of people would go for Obsidian in this scenario, but just watch what happens!
The overall damage is not that different but ueyuey's team has faster speed and more heart!
14 mana, little league
https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_4203af969bd96a46c50b3f59e1e3879c
Both chose Fernheat! I think it's easy to tell which team would win...
VS Kitty
28 Odd Ones Out

There are good odd mana cards that have good synergies with Fernheart, just look at those archers.
Noxious Fumes (Poison)
12 mana, Odd Ones Only
Fernheart has a good synergy with Vampiric Blossom. The only concern in this case is that Vampiric Blossom comes to the first position, then can't does a huge damage to the opponent. With Fernheart - close range, you don't have to worry about that.
Vs Lama Cube
40 mana, Little league, Poison
https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_74c09330e451bdd163dd300059817f01
Both summoners do +1 heart but close range makes a big difference.
Keep your distance
17 mana, Aim true, Keep your distance
16 mana, Weak magic, Keep your distance
Using Fernheart in low mana keep your distance makes sense to me since you can't use melee monsters. The demerit of using archers in low mana is that if an archer gets to the first position, it can't attack, so people would like to add at least 1 magic monster. With close range, you don't have to think about that.
Mylor Counter
58 mana, Little league, Reverse speed
https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_1844e417c6f58900b72a8977b753fc31
Earth elemental and Barking spider has a high hp, so they are a good with Fernheart since it can be a secondary tank while it give out some damage.
48 mana, Little League, Fog of war

Earth elemental working as the secondary tank again :)
Fernheart Meta Summary

- Keep your distance
- Odd Ones Out
Monsters that are good with Fernheart
- Earth elemental
- Barking spider

Closing thoughts
I hope you found the battles I shared and my insights helpful. Before I've done this research, I was not sure how I need to use Fernheart but now, I have much better idea of when to use him. When I get a low mana match with earth available, I would consider using him.

Thank you for reading!!
At first sight Fernheart doesn't seem too impressive but it provides a whole new way to use range cards. This was a very interesting analysis!
