Today, I'd like to share my battle with Runic Skyclaw.
Let's look at the stats first.
It is a rare card 3 archery, flying and snipe at level 1.
It gets reflection shield at level 5 (gold league)
It gains Giant killer at level 8 (diamond/champion league)
When I saw this card's stats for the first time, I knew I would like this card, so I was watching the price of this card. At once point, the gold foil of this card was cheaper than regular foil. So I was able to get this card in gold foil! 😀
I think this card becomes sooo good at max level with giant killer. Now, we have many giants, this ability is important more than ever.
Snipe & reflection shield combination is great because in blast ruleset, snipe is great but the only concern is reflection damage you'd take. Since you'd be hitting 3 monsters, it's possible that you get 3 reflection damage.
However, since this card has reflection shiled, so you don't have to worry about reflection damage at all, making this card very good!
Battles
99 mana, Explosive weaponary, keep your distance
- Everyone puts almo cambio and cornealus for reflection damage in keep your distance ruleset
- She did 6 damage to Cornealus with her blast damage! 16 damage in 1 shot!
- 10 damage to Cornealus and Runemancer Kye!
- 8 speed with Kitty, the first monster to attack and drop bombs!
- In keep your distance ruleset or/and explosive weaponary ruleset, scattershot works great doing a lot more total damage with blast, so I added coastal nymph & chaos dragon.
99 mana, Explosive weaponary, earthquake
- 8 damage to Coeurl Lurker
- First monster to attack
- Blocking blast damage coming from attacks to adjacent monsters.
- Flying makes immune to earthquake
- placing runic skyclaw with reflection shield beside taunt monster is smart because it negates the effect of blast.
- Raa is doing a great job attacking twice with blast.
Runic Skyclaw - The Queen of Explosive Weaponary
In explosive weaponary (blast) ruleset, snipe is great because you will most likely hit 3 monsters with blast damage.
People like to put monsters with magic reflect, return fire in this ruleset because reflection damage can easily kill a monster with or without amplify.
Runic skyclaw has reflection shield, so she doesn't have to wory about reflection damage.
The combination of high speed, high archery damage, snipe, reflection shield will make her the Queen of Explosive Weaponary!
I think this card is one of the best cards in the riftwatchers set. I'm so happy with this card!
