Hey guys 👋 Welcome back to another article. Once again this is Hyde writing to give beginners some useful information that can help make their grind easier.
Grinding through bronze might be a daunting task at first. Sometimes, you'll encounter people dropping down legendaries and bots who'll keep on countering anything that you've thrown at them. It can be pretty frustrating (Been there lol) but just this morning, I discovered one simple trick that skyrocketed my rating from 500 to 1,035 in just 30 minutes. I didn't really expect it since I'm just doing my daily 25 ECR grind, but one team comp. caused me to push until my ECR's only 50. I've been trying to find a way to get beat the bots and this team comp. really wrecks those pesky bots hard. The best thing about it? You only need to use one setup per game. You heard that right. JUST. ONE. SETUP. It feels really broken already if you ask me. This build has a record of 14 wins and 3 losses giving it an 87.5% WINRATE (To be updated once I got the other matches from battle chain tomorrow). There are still more matches but in-game history only extends up to there.
Before I go on with the explanations and examples, here are the core cards that you need:
SUMMONER:
A. Mylor Crawling
Cost: 3
Ability: Gives Thorns buff to all friendly monsters.
CORE MONSTERS:
A. Unicorn Mustang
Damage: 3, Speed: 4, Health: 10, Cost: 8
Ability: Void
B. Wood Nymph
Damage (Magic): 1, Speed: 1, Health: 2, Cost: 4
Ability: Tank Heal
C. Mushroom Seer
Damage (Magic): 2, Speed: 1, Health: 3, Cost: 5
Abiity: Silence
D. Centauri Mage
Damage (Magic): 1, Speed: 3, Health: 9, Cost: 7
Ability: Return Fire
That's it.
Those 4 cards are all that I ever used to speed up from 500 ratings to 1,035 ratings in a short amount of time.
The thing about a Mylor Crawling deck is that people think that they are only strong against melee comps. since Thorns only deals damage back to melee units. It is not triggered by Ranged nor Magic attacks. That is where Mushroom Seer and Unicorn Mustang come into play. Mushroom Seer's ability is Silence which reduces the magic attack of enemy monsters. So even if they use a water deck with Ulric, you would immediately negate his +1 magic attack for as long as Mushroom Seer is in the game. At bronze, you would almost never encounter anybody with a monster who has more than 2 magic damage. Coupled with Unicorn Mustang, their magic attackers would only deal 1 or even 0 damage to him due to his Void ability which reduces magic damage taken. Put in Wood Nymph in the mix with her Tank Heal and magic attackers would only tickle the unicorn at best.
Now, what about ranged units? Damn Hyde. All cards that you've shown don't even have a shield ability!
That's the reason why we have Centauri Mage. Centauri Mage has the ability Return Fire. This allows her to return damage back to those pesky ranged units. I often put her at Position 2 because I noticed that it is pretty common for ranged cards to have the snipe ability especially in bronze. So with Centauri Mage, she'll not only deal damage to melee attackers BUT also to ranged attackers that hit her. BONUS: If Centauri Mage is hit because of the secondary from Splash, it'll proc her Return Fire and deal damage to the attacker (Bye Fire Elemental hekhek).
With the current setup that we have, we already prepared for the two weaknesses of a Mylor Crawling team which are Magic and Ranged attacks. Early in Bronze, you wouldn't exactly encounter a lot of enemies with overwhelming ranged units, but there is still a chance of them beating this combo.
Why is it effective in Bronze?
I am not exactly sure if it's because of the bots or the fact that players in Bronze would still be using the ghost cards, but this team is prepared for any situation. You can check the images below and replays and you'll see that I'm just spamming THE SAME TEAM over and over in every single match. I would always encounter the same team compositions on my way along Bronze and it is safe to say that this team can handle them (Refer to the match history pictures to see the usual compositions). I also haven't encountered many heavy hitters on my way up which may contribute on such a high win percentage using just this build.
Usual Positioning:
1st- Unicorn Mustang
2nd- Centauri Mage
3rd- Wood Nymph
4th- Mushroom Seer
5th- Goblin Thief
6th- Earth Elemental
Proof of Match History:
Conclusion:
This team composition is extremely strong, but it is not flawless. Fire splinter builds with Fire Elemental and Spark Pixie have a good chance of beating this Mylor setup. Nonetheless, it has proven to be enough to push me to a 1,035 rating which is pretty good. You could also see from my match history that there are enemy team comps that are often repeated so I'm not sure if they are just bots or only chance. I haven't tried using this in Silver nor encountered any teams employing the use of dragons or legendary cards so I can't really say its efficiency versus those comps.
That's it for today. I hope this article helps you guys sprint through Bronze. Good luck and happy grinding!
Really good! I had similar results
I'm happy to know that! Good luck with your grind man.
