Hi everyone! Pogier here with the third unofficial PeakMonsters Guilds Brawl Report! This time around we only have Vikings matches to showcase this time around! Let's get started!
Overall Vikings Guild Performance: 2nd Place
From the points perspective, we tied for first place, but since Champs is a higher levelled guild, they got the win. Officially, we took 2nd place with 62 wins, 48 losses, and 0 draws. For our effort, we got 67 crowns with each participating member winning 3350 merits.
Captain's Bounty
For this brawl, the bounty has been set on Knights United!
Viking Performance!
Like the Vikings of old, we must honor the warriors that secured the most victories! As we technically tied for first place in terms of points, there are a lot of vikings to congratulate! Remember, these Vikings have at most only 2 losses! Let's all congratulate @UrchinTrader, @Shallwish, @jordy007, @Leoch, @Kalyus, @LostinTime, @KCSF, @No2, and @John9Inch for smashing through their foes! Urchintrader deserves an even greater round of applause for a complete sweep!
Personal Brawl Results:
In this brawl, my score was 2 wins and 5 losses. I was assigned to Novice Level Chaos Legion. This was my first time in this game mode, and I fumbled a bit. Fighting in this league needs a bit more practice as there are set cards that will perform really well here. Let's check out my battles!
Battle Replays
Battle #1: Lose
This was a really close match that we both had the same strategy in mind, but choosing the cleanse here might not have been the smartest plan. I also should have placed the forgotten one in a more protected spot as it was supposed to be the last one standing. Good job to my opponent here.
Battle #2: Lose
I was outsped and sniped by the opportunity attacks. This match was a poor choice as my strategy was to take the second turn and plow through my enemy. I wasn't able to do this properly and ended up getting completely destroyed. Speed is truly king in splinterlands!
Battle #3: Win
In a melee mayhem match where all the melee can attack from any position, I just new I had to get the first turn, and bring in the Quora Grund combo. This worked out well as I overpowered my enemy with sheer firepower. After the dust settled, I was left standing, victorious!
Battle #4: Lose
I was too worried about the earthquake ruleset here that I let the enemy get the best of me. I wasn't able to deal enough damage in the long run as the enemy had a solid tank in the front. We had similar strategies but I brought the squishier units. This was GG the moment my damage dealers were killed.
Battle #5: Lose
My mistake in this match was the enemy brought in units to overpower me. I quickly lost the match as I was unable to do enough significant damage while I received punishment after punishment. The best strategy here would've been to bring fast units and go in for the kill.
Battle #6 BOUNTY MATCH: Lose
In a match where Quora gets to show her stuff, it's simply criminal not to bring her in. I felt so stupid! I was swiftly destroyed by an overpowered Quora that got super beefy super fast thanks to my tandem of squishy units. I wasn't able to overpower the enemy fast enough.
Battle #7: Win
In the last match, it's a good thing I ended it on a good note. I learned that Quora is a beast for a reason so I decided to bring her in! At the start things looked bleak for me as the taunt was a curveball, but I managed to get my attacks through. The moment my Quora hit the front line, it was her time to shine as I had double tank heal and the enemy could only watch as they were annihilated.
Vikings' Bounty Matches
@shallwish's match!
The power of yodin is on full display in this match! This with the addition of enrage allowed SW to completely pulverize the enemy through overpowering them. SW's team was able to deal more damage per turn that the enemy wasn't able to sustain through. This was an instant GG.
@john9inch's match!
J9 coming in hot in this match with a perfect use of the Flying ability! I have never seen a match where Krash Wanderford pulled this much weight! Normally I would've deigned to pick him because he doesn't do any damage, but look at how much work it did! He literally didn't get hit at all in this match! The Grum just kept missing for days! This allowed J9's other monsters to swiftly work on the enemy and decimate the enemy!
@leoch's match!
Leoch coming in hot with a Quix team! This match was a really close one and I think Leoch would've lost this if it weren't the super clutch evades coming from the Chaos Dragon! At the end of the match when the dust has settled, it became 3 on the enemy versus 1 Chaos Dragon!.
@jordy007's match!
This was a perfect counter from Jordy! It's like he perfectly predicted the enemy's strategy of spamming magic damage and countered them hard! Their Isgald Vorst went to town on the backline and by the end of the match, he was unstoppable.
@urchintrader's match!
Ever seen how OP the Chaos Agent can be? Well, this match is your chance! The high speed and evade literally protected Urchin's team from the onslaught of the opportunity attackers! The enemy had no choice but to watch as the vigilator made swift work of the enemy! This match was over the moment the enemy just couldn't kill the Chaos Agent. I can only imagine how tilted they must feel. Lol
@ytfdinau's match!
The Grund + Goblin Psychic really put in a lot of work in this match! The tank heal was really clutch here while Quora acted as a solid tank protecting the backline. The main focus was to destroy the enemy from the front and once that was achieved, the backline soon crumbled the moment they were in front. Great match!
Vikings Highlights
@jordy007's match: Katrelba Gobson on Steroids!
This match was pretty fun to watch from the beginning to end. The Failed Summoner created the perfect setup for Katrelba! By reflecting the damage back to the enemy, the magic damage monsters on the back got their HPs drained enough for Katrelba's sneak attacks to swiftly destroy the backline. Great play by Jordy!
@jordy007's match: Ajax on the Hunt!
It's not often you see someone pull out a successful usage of Ajax, but here we see him in action! The entire strategy here was to focus on the front and decimate from the front. This is a very balls move on Jordy's part and it would've cost him the match if the enemy was able to bring in a better tank in the front. The whole strategy played in jordy's favor as the front line was swiftly decimated as Ajax got stronger. The key to this match was the sacrificial play by the Shieldbearer with the awesome taunt skill.
@lostintime's match: Grund Carnage against bji1203!
This was a very straightforward match. In a poison game mode, the team that manages to survive the damage from poison generally wins this. LiT went to town on the enemy with a lot of solid damage coming from him! It's funny how the last stand ability wasn't even activated! If you want to see Grund simply plow through the weakened enemies, this match is for you!
@lostintime's match: Curveball Strat!
You might notice that this match has a similar strategy to the one used earlier by Jordy. This match was the fire version of that, with way more firepower! Normally, you'd see the Magnor acting as a damage soaker at the backline but this allows the frontline to work its magic and focus on destroying the front. The best part here is that on a reverse speed, Grum Flameblade is a literal beast here! This match was a really close one as LiT's team doesn't have any sustain to offset the poison damage, so it became a contest to see who will win: Heals vs More Damage! The answer to this one was more damage! LiT's team swiftly destroyed the enemy with the power of blast and eventually was able to narrowly win in the end! I was almost literally at the edge of my seat! Just watch it and you'll see why!
Afterword:
Yes, I know it's late and I'm sorry! I've got another one that's also late so expect that soon! Thank you to my guildmates for their contribution and understanding!
