Checkmate!! Do you know what that word means and how it was generated? Yes, I know you know.. But that's not the focus of today's discussion :-)

1 2 3 4..who else?
Oops..

Okay its fine..but before you turn to go, let's have a quick chat..

Chess amidst most games is widely known and believed to be a very complex game and as well boring..okay, I made that up. However, that's not incorrect.

Have come to this understanding that most people with such attitude towards the game has decided to lock their mind and had chossen to rigidly believe with no attempt whatsoever to try and understand the rules and concept of the "innocent" board game.

Knowing to play a chess game implies that you must know and understand the rules of the game.. Yes, rules! - All sports posses their individual rules and infact if there was no rules govering each sport, there won't be fun or need for professionalism in the sporting activities

The game of chess is a battle between two players, who takes it in turns to move their pieces, white then black - every pieces of the game are identified with this two colors only. The ultimate object of the game is to checkmate the opponent's king so that it cannot escape. This is done by careful manoevering of pieces designed to control space and gain material with their individual unique movements.

From the image above, each player on each sides of the board has 16 pieces to play with which are a King and a Queen, two Bishops, two Knights, Two Rooks, and eight Pawns

Traditionally, the pieces in Chess represents aspects of mediaval society.

In my next post, I will share with you how the pieces move and rules governing the game but before that, I want you to first eradicate that thought or feeling of the game being boring or complex.

Do not hesitate to drop your comment.
