Yesterday we went to the Australian Open in Melbourne. It is one of the four tennis Grand Slams in the world and I am lucky enough to live just a couple of hours away. We got tickets to the main court, Rod Laver Arena which was great! Below is the view from our seats.
First up we got to see Simona Halep from Romania who is currently ranked world number 1! She defeated Lauren Davis from America in a very long and close match which was great to watch.
The whole set up for the event is huge and they even had a whole festival area with a live stage and big name acts performing throughout the day. The atmosphere was great and looked very beautiful with the skyline of Melbourne in the background.
Overall is was an amazing experience and we had such a good day even watching the 16 year old juniors on the smaller courts smashing the ball harder than I ever could. So many talented players and it was so much fun to be a part of it all.

The tennis is such a great experience. If you aren't going again tomorrow you might be interested in the Melbourne Steemit meetup: https://steemit.com/teamaustralia/@datascience/melbourne-steemit-meetup-tomorrow-mon-22-jan
That's a great idea but unfortunately I have work!
No worries. Hopefully they will become a regular thing and we will try to mix up the days and times.
Nice! I bet that was a great time.
Was so much fun!
